You made sure that you correctly port forwarded a port, and that your server is running on that port?
Are there any errors showing up on the black screen thingy?
Post ur run.bat file
How on Earth would him posting his run file help anything?
Guys, remember, you don't put your external IP into the server properties. That never works. I am pretty sure you have to get a sub domain name from www.no-ip.com and attach that to your server from another service. But you never edit the server properties. No.
Firewall or a recent software change?
It works.
In your server.properties, set your IP to blank
Have you told them to try connecting with the IP AND the port
as in xxx.xxx.xx.xxx:25565
[or 25665...depending on your port of course]

no can you test it out?
IP: 174.50.27.22:25565

Have you tried using 1.5.2? Instead of 1.6 if that's what you're using.
I've tried on 1.5.2 and 1.6.1 but it doesnt matter because im using a server host
its a problem with bukkit.
As a server owner -

Whats the ip to the server. ill try joining and seeing if its up
It is "not" in the server.properties file.
Try not setting the IP in the server.properties file, maybe it will pick up your IPv4 Address automaticly
(Sorry for my spelling, kinda handycapped over here!)

Sometimes IPs change every once in a while. Check if your public IP has changed and if it has, port-forward again using the new IP.
If that's not the problem. . . no idea.

Have you solved your problem? If you need more assistance then PM me please and I will see if I can help.
Remember that right now bukkit is unstable. It could be bukkit and not you.

you can get a free subdomain name from no-ip.com so people will remember your minecraft server!

You're using the port 25565? And did you put that port into the server.proterties? I suggest changing the port to something other then 25565.
and make sure that your port is the same as the port forawarding config info as the server
Thats what I said... In the server.properties...
Yes!
Hmmm They're connecting to the IP you got from http://www.whatismyip.com/?
