Minecraft Textures don't work
Hello! I want to create a texture pack as I feel like minecraft's default textures look bland and i thought it would be cool. This is the first time I have attempted making a resource pack, and after finally getting it to show up in the game, the textures don't work / don't show up in the game. I have no idea what I did wrong or how to fix it. Any thoughts?

Make sure they are located in correct folder path
So for example block textures will go in assets/minecraft/textures/block
Maybe you forgot one of these folders in between, or have typos in their names - check carefully.

I'm editing item textures currently, it goes minecraft>resourcepacks>the texture pack folder> 1.16.5 (the server i mainly play on is staying at 1.16.5 so thats why its the older verison)>assets>minecraft>textures>item
the items show up changed if you open the folder, but when i load them into minecraft they don't appear

youre not going to want a 1.16.5 folder there, just go right from the texture pack folder to assets
oh! do I just take the assets out and delete the rest?
no, you keep all of your textures and everything, but move the assets folder directly under your texture pack
so it would be like
minecraft/resourcepacks/texturepackfolder/assets/minecraft/textures/item
so it would be like
minecraft/resourcepacks/texturepackfolder/assets/minecraft/textures/item
you just saved me hours of tears and googling thank you so much!
