Both, so im just gonna combine marvel and dc to get (insert name here)
while marvel does better movies the dc animated universe is amazing, I can't think of more childhood defining shows like the batman, batman the animated series, teen titans, justice league, justice league unlimited and the legion of superheroes whereas the only good marvel animated shows were avengers earth mightiest heroes. x men (the old one) wolverine and the Xmen and x men evolution. I love the Marvel movies but I love dc comics more too especially batgirl supergirl and Harley Quinn and I didn't hate suicide squad and WONDER WOMAN WAS AMAZEBALLS so from a movie standpoint marvel but the cartoons and comics from dc have to win for me. so its a tie I guess

Marvel because in the DC universe, it's said that you can't be a super hero unless you're pretty. At least Marvel's more accepting of weird-looking heroes instead of throwing them onto the generic villain boat.

I love all Marvel but my favorite is a DC show... and its not even one of the big DC shows! Ugh, why do I have to choose?!?
I really like Batman, and he's definitely my favorite character in all of fiction. Buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut... Marvel has more characters I like. Sure, Batman's great but he's basically the only DC character I like. Marvel on the other hand, has Captain America, Iron Man, Ant-Man, Spider-Man, War Machine, Black Widow, Thor, Vision, Ultron, Baron Zemo and so many more characters that I just love. So I have to go with Marvel on this one. Sorry, Batman.
The reason why so many like Marvel is because of the movies. DC's equivalents aren't that great; Batman V Superman for example. But go watch The Dark Knight Returns (not rises, but it's good too), Flashpoint Paradox, Batman: Under the Red Hood, Justice League: The New Frontier, Justice League: Gods and Monsters, and lots others. There's also shows with tons of seasons like Batman the Animated Series, Justice League (and Unlimited), and Batman Beyond. The good DC stuff is the Dark Knight trilogy and the animated stuff, but most people don't watch the animation.
Also, if you haven't, please take the time to watch The Dark Knight Returns, which is my favourtie batman film ever.

I love DC but almost all my favorite character doesn't get much spotlight... poor Klarion, and if you don't know who that is point proven if you do then probably watch young justice. not getting his best version
I know of him from batman the animated series, don't understand how that's one of your favourite characters from DC, but alright.
