DEBATE NOW: MOB VOTE + 1.21 WILL BE:update
As you already know, Minecraft China is free, and has around 700 million active players, the penguin vote predominates there, and the rest of the community, Hispanic, Anglo-Saxon and others, are barely 100 million, which means that the Chinese vote will be the one that will have the most strength.
I don't want to claim that the penguin will win, but these are the facts, this additional information is very important since it had not been officially shown to us and this can make your vote change.

Now that I think about it, 1.21 is probably an atmospheric update, also the new minecraft bedrock shaders could indicate something, I just hope they continue optimizing the code and that the next update is quite nice. To be honest, I don't think it's an End Update, but I don't think it will be late either, maybe for 1.22 or 1.23
In addition, there they can also set more of the desert as it is very empty, I don't see it as likely that the desert is the central theme.

I think its gonna be desert, but I would want it to be end. The game needs more after the game, or before the game. When your join a world, you mine trees, grab stone & Iron, then run through the steps you’ve done a thousand times. everyone else has already done what you’re doing. Beat the game, grab an elytra, only return for the end for one thing: ( or insane building ) you return to the over world practically never going back the Nether has wood and netherite and lava, but the end has no reason to go back.

The end has quite a bit of utility as is.
This does favor certain playstyles over others… but so does every other 'thing' in the game.
Ender-enders are perhaps the most common end specific construct (and will see frequent use on servers where ender pearls are a common means of transport of where XP is in high demand).
Various high yield (but high lag) farms are also usefully located in the low-lag end, an effect enhanced because a smaller percentage of logged-in players are likely to be in that dimension (Wool farming is one obvious example. ) [N.B. this also keeps the farming player from loading a section of the nether or normal dimension, lowering the lag (and often improving mob spawning) for players in those dimensions.]
Not common (at least yet), but advanced copper farms of this type [ Minecraft Elegance: Next Generation Copper Farm (Java 1.17-1.20) by ianxofour ] are also well suited to the end. [N.B. prior to 1.17 this would be a gold farm. ]

I honestly think that the layered sand is just to throw us off, they wouldn't leak something so huge like that so quickly, so I think it will be the Deep Dark update, knowing people want the End update, voting for it here won't make much of a difference.
Could it be that yes, the sand layers could be implemented perfectly, and if so they make the biome a dune biome where you see super soft terrain? But it is true that it is also likely that it has nothing to do with the next update.

Aquatic Update.
I now think it will be a details update, because why will it be a aquatic update, a desert update, or a snowy update when there is a mob that lives in a mangrove swamp, a mob that lives in the desert, and a mob that lives in the arctic.

Also, I may be wrong, but I think it might be desert. It is ether going to be The Desert Update, or Aquatic Update II. Also, II means number two.
Armadillo? I was not expecting that, but okay.
Also the seagull, the jellyfish, and the crab are all good mobs for Minecraft. Minecraft is meant to be more of a creative game then a survival game.

Mojang wants you to build the missing villages in the game yourself in order to get the rebalance trades
I had a village in a jungle back in 1.12.x, but I suspect the structure generation wandered over from an adjacent biome… :idk:
With the latest experimental villager griefing, I don't expect jungle or swamp villages will ever be added (unless MS/Mj wise up and ditch the 1.20.x experimental trading).

The desert does not need an update. It serves its purpose ss an arid and dry place with scrace food and adding an update to it would ruin it. An end update would be better as the ender dragon boss fight is boring and to easy. Also, for a place you only find after a long time, your reward is endless beige islands with no signs of life exept for endermans (witch have a color palette of only 2 colors without counting the eyes, btw). And, considering that the nether update was one of the best minecraft updates ever, an end update would most likely have the same result. Also why did I spend 10 minutes of my life writing this?

To repeat myself: we desperately need a desert update... Scorpios, vultures, snakes, new structures/ruins, quicksand, oasises... Stuff like that.
