This is a datapack made for 1.17-1.20.4
Description:
This very simple datapack adds the ability to throw a Totem of Undying onto your wolves, cats, parrots and axolotls to help them escape a near death situation. The datapack only lets them pick up totems so you don't have to worry about them stealing your other items.
Features:
• Throw a totem at your pet to have them pick it up. When they get low on health they'll automatically use it, just like a player
• If you hold a totem in your main hand every pet within a 3 block radius of you will get the glowing effect so you know if they have a totem active or not.

I can keep my pet safe.
But I found some bugs and I'll report them to you.
1. Even wolves that have not yet been tamed pick up totems and eat them.
2. If you approach a pet with a totem while holding a totem in your hand, the pet will glow with a white outline. However, if you roll the mouse wheel and pick up another item in glowing state, the pet will glow forever. Until I approach the pet again with the totem and then walk away from the pet with the totem. And in that state if the undying effect is triggered by the death of the pet, the pet will glow forever until they dies.
This was tested in 1.18.2.
1. Unfortunately Wolves, and by extension Cats, can only be registered as tamed by being linked to the players UUID or Unique User Identifier. So, there is no practical way to test for only Wolves and Cats that have been tamed.
2. I have heard that from a few of my testers, but I have had 0 luck in seeing this bug. I've since rewrote the commands that give it the glowing effect, and I would love for you to test it out now and give me more feedback! Make sure the version of the Datapack is 1.5.0
In 1.5.0, I think number 2 is solved !
Thank you for providing a good data pack.
