After Mojang changed villagers to require a workstation to give them a profession Igloos villagers (the ones at the bottom in the "cages") stopped working like they where first intended to.
- Originally:
In one side of the "cage" there was a Plains Cleric Villager and in the other side was a Zombie Cleric Villager.
When the Zombie Cleric Villager was cured it would turn into a Cleric Villager and have cheaper trades for you, which was great.
- Behavior After Biome Specific Villager Update:
In the newer version of Minecraft the Cleric Villager has now reverted to being a Plains villager with no Profession
And when you cure the Zombie Cleric Villager it turns into yet another Plains Villager with no Profession, so you lose out on the good trades.
- My Changes/Fix
Now the villager in the cage will be a Snow Cleric Villager (level 2 so not to lose it's profession, also matches the biome it's in)
The Zombie Cleric Villager is now also a Snow version and when it's cured it will turn into a Snow Cleric Villager with cheaper trades.
NOTE: As this only changes the "igloo/bottom.nbt" it should work with any other data pack you have installed, however if you have any data packs that modify the Igloo structure at all and also have this install it may stop one or both from working as intended.
- Uninstall Command
You can uninstall 1 of 3 ways
1: During install (or world reload) if you're in Creative you will get a "pack installed" message, if you click [INFO] there is an uninstall button at the bottom
2: type /function 8bm:uninstall.igloo_villager_fix and press enter
3: Give this is a structure data pack and no scoreboards are used you can simply remove it from your Data Pack folder

But then again when as mojang ever touched an overworld structure (besides villages).
I also don't like how cryptic mojang made the "puzzle" in this dungeon... smh.
Any-ways good work as always :)
The way my pack works is by giving the villager and zombie villager a profession level of apprentice so that they keep there profession.
If there was at least one thing I think Mojang should "fix" its that they have Snow villagers in the igloos instead of the plains ones, even if they did loose there profession at least they would fit the biome
Until that day happens (if it ever does) we have my pack to fix it all :)
at least I think that's the easiest way
I modified it so that the villagers spawn in as snow villagers with a profession level of apprentice so that they keep there profession and don't revert to blank villagers, it was pretty easy, except I had to modify the raw nbt rather then the structure in MC as it was giving me a lot of strange generation errors.
Mojang did that to annoy us.
The only reason I did it for the Igloo was partly for nostalgia of the old days of Minecraft when the igloos where added and partly because I wanted to have the villager be a Snow Cleric and didn't want the Zombie to be left out.
But like I said, if you're wanting to have all Zombie Villagers retain the profession they had before they where converted then I can do that as a pack for you :)
