Please Note: This is meant to go along with a few changes to Villages and some other things, but I'm struggling with making structures/changing loot tables in chests at the moment!

I personally hate that it's too easy to get everything you need within the first day. Once you get seeds, you can easily get Sheep and Cows, and with them, basically unlimited Leather and Wool. It's rather telling to me that few people make Sheep Farms or get Shears anymore, they just kill three Sheep and their troubles are over. I also take issue with Sniffers and Turtles, because Sniffers have no real use (and they are obviously domesticated, and a perfect farm animal), and Turtles' Scute mechanic means that few will ever get a Turtle Helmet or Turtle Master potions (and you end up killing them anyway, let's be real).

I changed a bunch of mobs to try and fix these issues:

  • Sheep: Sheep don't drop Wool when you kill them. Instead, they drop Rabbit's Hide (Resource Pack for the name incoming) and Mutton when killed. You need to find iron before you can get all that sweet, sweet wool now.
  • Chicken: Chicken no longer drop Feathers (they don't need two drops). They drop Chicken, as before, and some occasional Bone Meal.
  • Cow: Cows drop less Leather and less Beef, because they are now the sole source of Leather. I did this so Cows are no longer the be-all-end-all OP Farm Animal.
  • Donkeys, Mules, Horses, and Llamas: These mobs all drop Hide, not Seeds, because I want Seeds to be harder to find.
  • Sniffers: Sniffers dig up Petrified Oak Slabs and Small Dripleaves along with their current two seeds. Sniffers were obviously a farm animal in the past, so they now drop a substantial amount of Beef.
  • Fox: Drop Sweet Berries, for consistency's sake.
  • Parrot: Parrots now drop their Feathers, and are the new source of Feathers. I would normally make them just drop them as they fly around, but I don't quite know how (also, I think this gives a practical use to the Parrot)!
  • Mooshroom: These guys already give you Mushroom Stew, so now, they drop the two types of Mushroom and neither Leather nor Beef.
  • Turtle: Turtles now drop their Scutes.
  • Armadillo: These guys drop their Scutes when they die, but Brushing them is still a lot easier.
  • Piglin/Piglin Brutes: I'm always getting in fights with these guys, and they now drop Gold Nuggets (For Piglins) and Bars (For Brutes). This isn't anything insane, of course, but they would logically drop the gold they carry.
  • Happy Ghasts: These guys drop 1-2 Ghast Tears if you do decide to kill them, just for consistency's sake.
  • Wither Skeletons: Instead of Bones, they will now drop Charcoal and Wither Roses (at a lower rate). This is really because there's no point in summoning the God of Death to farm some roses.
  • Spiders: Spiders no longer drop their eyes, instead they are now the sole source of string (besides their cousins) in nature.
  • Cave Spiders: Cave Spiders drop their eyes and string. I did this because Cave Spiders are the Poisonous ones, so it just makes sense (it also gives them a good use and reason to find and fight).
