Minecraft: Java Edition - Data Pack
Bring back 1.8 Combat!
Bring back 1.8 Combat!
No attack cooldowns. Make combat the way it was in 1.8 and before!
Gives the player an attack speed buff, `attribute @s minecraft:generic.attack_speed base set 25`
(I have seen a few other renditions of this pack, but they all have some weird issue, this is such a simple pack, here you go.) `It just works...`
Command:
/trigger 1.8-combat - turn off 1.8 combat. (per player)
Tips:
If your attack speed isnt instant, try the toggle command until it says "1.8 Combat On"
You will have instant attack by default when you first login.
Donations appreciated:🔗
All of my projects take an inordinate amount of time to upkeep/create.
I use my free time to make them. Any support would be much appreciated!
If you enjoy these packs and want to see more like them and see them maintained, send me some love!
Credit: Based off `TheDiamondPlayables - CoolTimeZero` data pack.
Thank you for the attack speed attribute and the predicate for player respawns <3

I should probably explain my problem.
The .zip file being uploaded to the file editor simply doesn't allow the datapack to be recognzied. I can't put the folder there because it says "Unable to perform action." And the .zip file can't be opened in the minehut site's file manager.
I tried the command in my server, but it says "unknown scoreboard objective"
Although, due to difficulties, I could only upload the .zip file and the .mcmeta file to my server's file manager
Check "Experimental Combat Snapshot" for something more customizable if the axes are an issue.
I have had terrible experiences with 3rd party server hosts and trying to customize a server. The best way is to host it yourself or use a server provider who gives you full access to your files, as it shud be...
If i was to guess whats going wrong, id say minehut is just incapable of uploading zip files correctly, or its uploaded to the wrong folder.
All your need is the .zip from the releases page.
.mcmeta is an internal file for the datapack and not something you need in the datapacks folder.
(Check under the download button for "how to install data packs", as it shud address these various ways of installing)
The releases page has premade files that can be dropped into a world and work.
It doesnt effect the attack mechanics.
You can just spam click attacks.
