After I announced the return of the Soda SMP after two months, it was finally the night that I was turning the server back in. I was eagerly waiting for the digital clock in the corner of my iPad screen to turn to 10:00 PM (ET) so I could turn in the server, but after I did turn it in, announce that it was coming on, and open Minecraft, I couldn’t join because of an outdated client. After a few minutes of trying to troubleshoot (which included turning off the server), I figured out that the problem was that the server was updated to the latest Minecraft (Bedrock Edition) version, 1.19.80, while I hand)t updated my game in a while and it was still 1.19.73. I updated my game and announced that it was officially coming on, tagging Ella in the wall post edit.
Once I logged in, I watched everything load in (the image at the top of the blog) and began to walk around, visiting my house, Ella’s house, and the hotel. On my way to Peter’s monolith, I mined a lone spruce log and saw that Ella had logged on. She was only on for a few minutes, but I visited her and then went back on my way to the monolith, which I flew down from to land on Parrot Island. I went inside Pig’s house and visited the basement. That villager is still mad at me for punching him on accident and won’t trade me Mending books. I went to the anvil and renamed the spruce log to the show that it was the first block I mined when I logged back on.
Ella left and I just explored, wandering around the area. I got an idea to make a vault for several trophies and prized items on the server, which would be in a hidden location that only me and the rest of the Soda Trio (Peter and Pig) know about. I went to the Nether and explored the surrounding area, mining up veins of Nether gold ore for some pedestals for the vault. After several run-ins with angry piglins, I finally died to a skeleton in the soul sand valley.
After respawning, I waited for it to turn night, taking several pictures, and then went to bed for the first time since I last joined back in February. In the morning, I took off my armor and journeyed to the lake on Parrot Island to look at the water for a few minutes, before typing /kill, respawning at home, and logging off for the night.
Sadly, no one else joined between me joining, Ella joining, leaving, and me logging off. Sad.
