Day 3

As I awakened once again the road beckoned once more. The road was littered with defunct
automobiles, vehicles from a bygone age, rusted and abandoned they lay there just further
decaying away. The bushes beside the road rattled again with the noise I heard before. Out
of curiosity I went to investigate. A white dog appeared from the bushes. I offered some
of my food. Luckily he was friendly and decided to come with me to the Sanctuary. As we
walked along the road I decided on a name for the dog. I have called him Charlie. With him
by my side I continued along the road. A car got my attention, a police car. I was going
through that car hoping to find weapons inside to ward off anymore of those biting things,
but to no avail.

Soon night came and being out here puts me further at risk to them. I spotted a house not
far from my location. The windows were covered with all kinds of sheets as to not look inside.
And the door seemed to be shut tight. I decided to bang on the door in the hope somebody
would open it up, but nobody answered the door. I walked around to the backside of the house
to see if the backdoor would open, but again no such luck. Then I saw the hatches of a cellar
door and they opened with no problem. For the night I decided to hide in here. A while later a
door opened and a man came down the stairs. He was wondering why I was in his house. I
had to explain myself to this understandably angry man and hope he would let me rest for the
night before I continued my journey.

As I talked to the man he became concerned. He noticed the wound on my arm and grew
worried. As he never knew of anybody being cured from wounds like this. He said it be better
to cut off the arm, slowing the spread. But I didn't take his advice. However he agreed to let me
stay one night. He was adamant I leave first light to what he claims to be a pipe dream. A
fictional beacon of hope, not something really out there. But again I refused to listen or believe
him. I had to be sure to see this by going where the Sanctuary is supposed to be. I tried to sleep,
but my body felt warmer as if a fever came upon me and I began to feel stuffy. The night seemed
to last longer now that I felt sick. I just hope I could continue the journey in the morning as I finally
managed to sleep.

Day 4

Writing seems harder as does walking. I still was determined to find the Sanctuary I heard about,
sickness or not, as I continued my path with Charlie by my side. Sometimes it felt like I was going
to throw up, but I managed to contain myself. I stumbled more than I actually walked andfI needed
to rest more often than I would walk it seems. Sometimes it even felt like I would pass out due to
this fever. It all felt harder to go on, but still I was determined to complete my quest that I set out
for myself as I continued to walk the road ahead. For a long stretch of the road I saw nothing. No
cars, no buildings until not far from the road I saw a path leading to a camping ground. In my hopes
to find people there I decided to walk there and not far from there there were a few recreational
vehicles parked on the grounds. And there were people nearby these RVs.

As they saw me approaching them they were apprehensive at first when they saw me, feverish, pale
and stuffy. They looked like signs of somebody that is going to be turned and turned soon. But still
they took me in hoping that it was not too late for me for me, although at first they chained me to a
fence with a wet towel placed on my head as to lower the fever. I slightly overheard them talking
about what to do with me in my current condition. They felt unsafe with me there. And I could not
blame them. Ever since the bite it was a matter of time before I turned if I could not get healed. My
dog Charlie came laying beside me. A small comfort as my fate was to be decided.

After debate by the people who had this spot as their hideout they decided to release me from the
handcuffs. They say I was still in the early stage and if there was a cure in the Sanctuary I mumbled
about in an almost delirious fashion that my best chance lies there. They could not give me a lift all
the way to there, but they still had me ride along with them to a police station that was on the way
north. The police station was barricaded like a small fort and with three guards outside keeping vigil
in case those things showed up. Here I rested more as my fever went down a bit. Though the
likelihood of recovery is slim if I don't make it to the Sanctuary in the next couple of days. Still my
illness kept me down, but for now I was safe. With these new people I hoped to soon get to the
Sanctuary, but as I was with these people I passed out exhausted until the next day.
