Hi there Minecraft! Since I first released my New World Texture Pack, people have been asking very frequently how I animated the paintings in it. Well, to ease me of typing out long drawn out tutorials for individuals, I'm going to make one last one, right now!
Tutorial:
First thing you must do is decide which painting you want to animate! After that step open up your painting program. (I use Paint.net). Copy the area of the painting and paste it on a blank canvas. Now if you wish to animate this painting you must make a string of pictures like so (Must be vertical!):
To make creating frames easier, you can convert .GIF images into individual frame by frames. (Technically you can watch entire movies in Minecraft, it would just be a VERY huge file XD).
Okay, now that you have your frames done, you can apply these to Minecraft files. I recommend creating a folder titled "anim" in your Minecraft .jar file just to prevent bulk. After the folder is created, put your image into the folder. Rename the image something like "custom_kz_(#).png" to make this process much easier.
The next VERY important step is to create a .PROPERTIES file. It should be simple as notepad or some simple writing program. Title the file "custom_kz_(The same # from above).properties". In this file you are going to include the location of your frames to make Minecraft re-run its scripts.
The first step is to identify the key components of the location of the original painting.
Okay, so these are the things that go into the .PROPERTIES file you created. Now open up your file and match this format:
So now you have just made paintings come alive in Minecraft!!! Have fun! :D Now you can watch TV while playing Minecraft! Lazy bums... XP
Please Diamond if you think this helped! :D
