CAMP MASSACRE: 1985

It was a hot summer day on the year 1985 and the bus was packed with campers, counselors, and staff, all of them giddy with excitement for the start of the camp season. Nancy Wu, Ricky Tyler, Lisa Newkirk, and Daniel Webber sat together, laughing and joking, while Ronnie Summers sat alone, quietly observing the commotion around him. Kathy Jones sat next to him, her bubbly personality in stark contrast to his shy demeanor, and she was soon chattering away, eager to make a new friend. As the bus drove up the winding road to Camp Shining Stone, their journeys were just beginning.

Nancy had long flowing black hair and wore black bobby pins in it. Her deep brown eyes went perfectly with her milky skin. Nancy was wearing the camp t-shirt which had the words, “Camp Shine Stone.” printed on the front, along with light blue denim cutoff shorts. “Im not really looking forward to camp. ” Nancy complained to her friends. “Summer camp is for kids!” She exclaimed as her best friend, Lisa smirked. “Look on the positive side Nance, at least there will be boys~.” She gave a sly grin, and soon that grin grew on Nancy’s face as well. Lisa had curly black hair that went down to her shoulders along with her dark brown eyes and chocolate skin. Lisa was wearing a bright orange crop top with high waisted blue jean shorts. “Well, when you put it that way…it couldn’t be that bad.” Nancy responded back with a smile.

Ricky was currently snickering along with Daniel in the seat behind Nancy and Lisa. “Dude, I cannot wait! Imagine…all the girls you can have, and they don’t have their father along to stop us. Ricky had feathered dark brown hair that went down right below his ears and soft hazel eyes that stood out against his slightly tanned skin. Ricky’s words were music to Daniels ears. “Bro, camp is perfect for 24/7 parties!” Daniel smirked and looked around the bus for a short moment. Daniel had medium length messy reddish brown hair, dark brown eyes, and fair skin. “So, who is the hottest chick on this bus?” Daniel asked. Ricky thought for a moment as his hazel eyes glanced around the bus, looking at all the girls. “Debbie Pierce is obviously the hottest!” Ricky grinned and Daniel snickered. “Your just saying that because of how she looks!” Daniel exclaimed with a smile. “Am I wrong?” Ricky asked with a smirk. “No.” They both burst into laughter and kept talking.

At the moment, Ronnie was watching the others in silence. His pale blue eyes stared at Ricky and Daniel with disgust. Ronnie had short wavy dirty blond hair that fell over his eyes a little along with his fair skin covered with hundreds of freckles.

“Ronnie?” Kathy asked, gently placing her hand on Ronnie’s shoulder. “What’s wrong?” Her tone was filled with worry. “Nothing. Just thinking.” Ronnie responded back while still keeping his eyes on the two boys. Kathy had long feathered brown hair tied back into a ponytail along with a pair of soft green eyes that matched her olive skin. “Oh ok…” She didn’t wanna press so she sat back and kept looking out the window.

Ricky was talking with Daniel about what cabin they would be in until Ricky caught sight of Ronnie’s staring. “What are you looking at you little freak!?” Ricky barked. Daniel turned his head towards Ronnie as well and gave him a suspicious stare. “Yeah, what’re you looking at?” Daniel asked.

Ronnie remained silent as his pale blue eyes just watched Ricky. This pissed Ricky off, causing him to stand up. “Im not gonna ask you again!” He got up from the seat and walked over to Ronnie, grabbing him by the collar of his shirt. “What are you looking at!” Ronnie felt droplets of spit hit his face. “Please let go of my shirt.” He grabbed Ricky’s hands. The bus driver was watching the situation escalate but he didn’t care enough to intervene.

“Make me.” Ricky responded back while gritting his teeth. During this, Lisa and Nancy were watching with interest. Nancy was eating this up, she was a girl who loved drama. Ronnie stared up at Ricky with fear washing over himself until Kathy stood up. “Leave him alone!” She grabbed Ricky and pushed him off of Ronnie. “Get off me you bitch!” He shouted back and stood there. Currently the bus was silent and everyone was watching. “What are you all looking at!?” Ricky shouted, glaring back at Ronnie. “You better watch yourself.” He said to Ronnie before walking back to his seat and sitting down next to Daniel with a pissed expression.

Kathy sat next to Ronnie trying to comfort him. “Oh my gosh, are you ok Ronnie?” Her tone was filled with worry for him. Ronnie glanced up at Kathy. “Its fine…I guess..” He sighed. “No its not! We should tell someone!” She exclaimed. “No. I said im fine.” He responded back with a snarky tone. “What’s the matter with you?” Kathy’s sweet tone was dimmed. “I just don’t need some girl to help me.” He responded back again in a snarky tone. “y-you jerk!” She scoffed and got up from the seat, sitting with someone else, leaving Ronnie alone.

After 30 more minutes, the bus came to a halt and the bus driver stood up. “OK! We have arrived at camp! Grab your bags and get off the bus!” He sat back down and took a long drink of his beer. The bus was filled with the chatter of the campers while they all grabbed their bags and made their way off the bus. Nancy moved her bangs out of her eyes and grabbed her bag from under the seat along with Lisa. Ricky and Daniel were already off the bus, racing each other to the boys cabin. Kathy walked past Ronnie’s seat quickly while holding her bright yellow duffel bag. Ronnie wanted to say something but he couldn’t bring himself to it. Ronnie grabbed his dark grey camp bag and walked off the bus, he was the last to leave and as he followed behind all the other campers and counselors who were walking to their cabins

The bus driver sat in his seat, drinking his beer and looking at magazines of girls. “Oh yeah….they gettin hotter each year…” He said to himself with a smirk and kept looking through the pages. Suddenly a thud was heard outside of the bus, causing the bus driver to stand up. “What are you kids doing near the bus still!” He shouted and opened the bus door and walked down the steps leading off the bus.

“Hello?” He looked around and then turned around to see someone. “Oh. Its you!” He scoffed. “What do you want?” The person remained silent and pulled out a dark black swiss army knife. “Woah kid! What’re you doing with that?!” He backed away against the bus in fear as the person walked closer and closer wielding the knife. His eyes widened in terror and before he could do anything the person lifted their arm in the air and swiftly slashed his throat without any hesitation. The man groaned and started to choke on his own blood until he keeled over and bled out through his neck.

Currently Lisa and Nancy were walking to the girls cabin, they were both counselors so they had to be there. “I can’t stand whiny ass brats.” Lisa groaned in annoyance. “I know right. I wish we could just shut them up.” Nancy grinned and so did Lisa. Both the girls walked up the porch steps to the girls cabin. The porch had a few female campers on it, talking about things as they enjoyed the summer breeze. Lisa went inside the cabin first and soon followed Nancy.

Once both girls were inside the cabin they were greeted by another female counselor with medium length curly red hair, light brown eyes, and fair skin. “Why hello girls! Which counselors are you?” She asked. “Im Lisa and this is Nancy.” Lisa responded. “Who are you?” Nancy asked. “Pamela, but call me Pam.” She smiled. “It’s great to have you here! Could you girls please help show some of the campers to their bunks?” Nancy scoffed. “Do we have too?” She asked with a tone of annoyance. “Yes, you are a counselor after all. Its your job.” She still had a smile on her face but she already had a bad taste in her mouth about Nancy. “Fine.” Nancy rolled her eyes and walked over to some of the campers along with Lisa.

Meanwhile at the boys cabin Ricky and Daniel were talking with their two other friends, James and Matthew. James had short gelled blond hair and blue eyes, Matthew had medium length wavy black hair and green eyes. “I heard you got into it with Ronnie on the bus today.” James said with a grin. “Well, the little shit was staring at me for no reason.” Ricky responded back with a playful eye roll. “What did you do?” Matthew asked with interest. “I put him in his place!” He laughed. “Yeah but Kathy put you in yours!” Daniel teased Ricky, knowing he would get pissed. “Just shut up Danny!” He scoffed and walked over to the dark brown sofa in the living room of the cabin.

Two boys were sitting on the couch watching full house on the TV. “Get up.” Ricky demanded. The boys looked up at him confused. “But we were here first!” Ricky smirked. “Who’s the counselor here.” The boys went quiet. “Exactly, now beat it.” They both got up and walked away and Ricky plopped down on the couch, stretching and taking up the entire thing. Ricky smirked and grabbed the remote, changing the channel to MTV. Ronnie walked through the front door of the cabin, holding his bag and looking around. Ricky grinned devilishly and used this as a chance to mess with him. “Hey!” Ronnie looked towards Ricky. “Yeah you! Come’ere.” Ricky demanded as Ronnie stood across the room, thinking. “o-ok..” He walked over to the couch looking down at Ricky with a bit of worry about what would happen next and what Ricky wanted. “Come. Sit down.” He stared directly back into Ronnies eyes. “Why?” He hesitated to sit down. “Because I said so, now sit.” Ricky was growing impatient.

Ronnie quickly sat down on the far end on the couch. “Why are you all the way over there?” Ricky grinned and looked over towards Daniel, Matthew, and James nodding his head slightly. Daniel grabbed a water bottle and the three boys slowly walked up behind the couch. “So, tell me a little about yourself Ronnie?” Ricky asked as Ronnie sat down on the couch uncomfortably. “W-well…Im 17…and-” Ricky cut Ronnie off. “Wait! Your a counselor? But you look so young!” Ricky grinned. “Yeah..?” Ronnie responded and before he could say anything else Daniel screwed the cap of the water bottle off and poured it out all over Ronnie.

Ronnie screamed in response to the cold water going down his back and soaking his shirt. He stood up quickly and looked at the three boys. “WHAT WAS THAT FOR!!?!?” Ronnie shouted and Ricky, Daniel, James, and Matthew just burst into laughter. The boys taunted him and Ronnie’s head began to spin, he grew nauseous and soon he turned and ran out of the boys cabin, leaving the four boys laughing.

Ronnie ran quickly down the porch steps, running past the other campers his eyes filling with tears. He ran quickly down a random path leading through the woods for a while until he stopped and threw up in one of the bushes. Ronnie stood there and wiped his face, staring down at his tear and puke stained shirt and sighing.During this moment, Nancy and Lisa were standing on the porch of the girls cabin, smoking and getting lit up.

“Did you see Pamela?” Lisa laughed. “Like seriously, that girl needs to use more makeup,” she grinned, then took another hit of her joint and blew the smoke into the air. Lisa nodded in agreement when Nancy spoke. “Ah know right!” Nancy remarked sarcastically. “She thinks she’s SO much better! ‘Go help the campers to their bunks’, like I don’t need to do that!” Lisa chuckled again, then took another hit of her joint until Pamela suddenly appeared out of nowhere. “What are you girls DOing?” Pamela yelled, shocked and grabbed the cigarettes from the girls and threw them to the ground. “What the hell was that for?” Nancy exclaimed, shocked by Pamela’s sudden outburst and accusation. “You SHOULD NOT BE SMOKING!” Pamela shouted back. “Oh, don’t act like you don’t smoke either!” Lisa replied, her bitchy tone dripping with snark. “That is your first strike! Now, I want you girls to go help set up for the ceremony at the main cabin!” Pamela demanded, not allowing Nancy to speak up for herself. “But -” Before Nancy could respond, Pamela cut her off, interrupting her and barking the command once again. Nancy and Lisa began to walk to the main cabin.

Pamela sighed and grabbed the ashtray, throwing it forcefully into a nearby bin. Kathy was brushing her brown hair on her bed when Pamela approached her, speaking. “Hey, Kathy?” Her green eyes looked up at Pamela with a wide smile. “Yes Pam?” Kathy nodded, happy to be helpful and willing to do what Pamela asked. “I hate to be a bother, but could you please go to the main cabin and make sure Nancy and Lisa aren’t causing any more trouble?” Frustrated, Pamela rubbed her hands through her hair. “Sure Pam! I’ll go check on them.” Kathy set the wooden brush on the bedside table and stood up, walking to the door. “Thanks Kathy.” Pamela walked over to the campers and began to get them ready to go to the ceremony.

Lisa and Nancy entered the main cabin, greeted by Deborah, the head counselor. “Set up the chairs, please.” Deborah commanded with a stern look on her face. “Yes, counselor Deborah.” they both groaned, heading over to the chairs and setting them up. Deborah was an older woman with a light gray perm, pale green eyes, and fair skin. She always had a stern expression and demanded strict obedience from the campers and counselors under her watch.

Soon it was time for the ceremony, All the campers were sitting down at the round wooden tables as the counselors stood on the stage preparing for the speech. Deborah walked onto the stage wearing the camp t-shirt and Khaki pants. “Hello Camp Shine Stone!” She said into the microphone with a forced smile. “Im the head counselor, Deborah. I hope you enjoy your time here!” She groaned softly and handed the microphone to Pamela. “Um…Hello Campers! Im Pamela and Im so excited for the summer!” She smiled and got the campers excited. Nancy and Lisa stood on the stage looking at Pamela with envy, whispering rude comments about Pamela to each other and snickering. Ricky was standing with Daniel. Kathy stood next to Ronnie as they both listened to Pamela speak. “Now lets sing the camp song!” Pamela shouted with a smile.

come to Camp, the place you call home.
Where you’ll make memories that’ll never be alone.
We are a family, with joy and surprises.
This is where you’ll meet your never-ending supplies.
Oh Camp, Camp, Camp, the place to be.
For this year, you’re a part of the family!”“Now go have fun!” Pamela said as the entire room roared in excitement and then they were dismissed. The campers all left the main cabin smiling and chattering, leaving the counselors to clean up.

Later that night they all sat around the campfire, eager to hear Ricky’s scary story. “It was the year 1972 and on the night of tonight,” he began ominously. “There was a counselor named Aiden Turner who snapped and went on a killing rampage. He killed 23 different people at this camp and rumors have it that he is still here…” Then Daniel suddenly ran up to the campfire wearing a Jason mask and holding a machete, screaming towards the campers. “I’LL KILL YOU ALL!!” His eyes darted around the crowd, his voice full of menace. The campers’ faces filled with terror as Daniel’s words sent shockwaves through the group. They all rushed back to their cabins, screaming and shouting in fear. Ricky, Matthew, and James laughed along with Daniel. “Haha…that was freaking awesome!” Ricky said, and Daniel added, “Hell yeah!” They both grabbed a bottle of beer from the case that Daniel brought, ready to kick the night’s festivities into gear. “Ready for the real party?” Daniel smirked as the three boys cracked the beers, the fun and games about to begin.

“Hear hear!” the boys toasted, clinking their beer bottles together and taking more swigs. “This will be the best summer ever!” Ricky stood up, laughing, and took another swig of beer. Daniel, a bit drunk, said, “Shit…I gotta piss…I’ll be right back.” He struggled to stand, taking a moment to balance himself before walking away from the campfire towards a secluded area. “Just hurry, dude!” Ricky called after him. The group laughed as they kept drinking, eagerly awaiting Daniel’s return. Daniel stood over the bushes, ready to relieve himself. But before he could, a loud voice called out from behind him: “Ricky? Is that you?” He didn’t bother turning to look behind him, assuming it was just his pal playing a prank. However, he quickly grew worried as the voice didn’t respond to his calls. Before Daniel could do anything, a machete was forced through the back of his head. Daniel’s eyes went wide and he fell to the ground, his lifeless body lying face down on the ground as the blade protruded from his mouth. The person who slaughtered Daniel then walked away and hid his body in one of the nearby bushes.
Ricky laid down on a log by the campfire with James and Matthew passed out on the ground nearby. Getting up, he called out for Daniel. After a while, he heard movement down the path. Heading towards it, he didn’t see a tripwire, and it was too late to stop himself from walking into it and crashing to the ground. He struggled to get up and then he saw someone standing over him, “Who are you?” Ricky noticed them carrying gardening shears and Ricky shouted out, “Wait! Please Noo!” in a desperate attempt to stay alive. But it was all in vain – the person forced the gardening shears through Ricky’s back, piercing and penetrating deep through to Ricky’s stomach. Screaming in pain, he coughed up blood onto the ground and grew weak from the massive blood loss. Ricky let out one last gasp for air before his body went limp. The person standing over him just nodded and walked away, leaving Ricky to die in agony. The campfire nearby suddenly went out, as if to mourn the loss of one of its campers.
Lisa and Nancy sat in the girls’ cabin watching horror movies on a couch, enjoying their alone time with the peace and quiet. “These movies are so stupid,” Nancy scoffed, pointing out a trope. “How come?” Lisa asked, her eyebrows raised. “Well, the girl in these movies always runs up the stairs instead of out the front door when they need to escape,” Nancy explained. “Oh, I guess you’re right,” Lisa agreed. Nancy rolled her eyes. “Im gonna take a shower, Cya later Lisa.” Nancy stood up and began to walk to the showers “Ok. Seeya later Nance.” Lisa replied back and kept watching the movie.
Nancy carried a bright yellow shower bag filled with her clothes and soap items. The showers were located outside of the cabins, so she had to venture down the path towards the girls’ showering facility. Carrying a flashlight to guide the way, Nancy walked down the path slowly, trying to avoid any bumps or uneven terrain. After what felt like forever, she finally reached the showers and opened the door, stepping inside and shutting it behind her. She put her bag down and turned on the water, enjoying the warmth of the shower as the water washed away all her worries and concerns. Nancy placed her bag on one of the nearby benches and began to undress, pinning her hair up before stepping into the stall and turning on the water. The warm water was soothing and she felt a sense of calm wash over her. She enjoyed the feeling of the water as it rained down on her and began to feel relaxed as she immersed herself in the sensation. It seemed like she had left all her worries and concerns behind as she took this moment to relax and unwind after a long and stressful day at camp.
As she finished her shower, Nancy stepped out and grabbed a towel to wrap around herself. After stepping out of the shower and grabbing her clothes out of the shower bag, she heard a thud outside the showers and looked out the door. “Hello?” She waited for a response, but there was none. She shrugged and returned to drying off and putting her shirt on. Just as she finished, she heard yet another thud and paused, this time it was louder and closer. She looked out the door again, puzzled at the odd noises, wondering where they were coming from and then she shouted at the noise. “Whoever that is, stop it!” Nancy shouted, visibly annoyed. The banging turned into rapid, heavy thuds, and they were getting louder and closer. “Thats it…” she mumbled, rolling her eyes and pulling on her shorts. Then, the banging turned into a loud crash as the door flew open, hitting Nancy in the face and knocking her back onto the shower room floor. Groaning softly in pain, her nose now broken, Nancy tried to get up, but was too dizzy from the impact. “Oh god, what the hell are you doing!?” Nancy screamed, shocked as she saw a person standing over her, knife in hand. Before she could say anything else, the person plunged the knife into her stomach. Nancy screamed in pain and tried to push them off, but she was pinned to the floor and couldn’t fight back. Nancy kicked the person off her and got up, quickly running towards the door. Just as she was about to escape, the person grabbed her hair and forcibly pulled her back, throwing her into the wall, cracking her skull. She fell to the ground, dead, as the person stood over her, their face hidden in the shadows.
Ronnie laid in a bright orange sleeping bag by the still-extinguished campfire, sleeping next to other campers and counselors. He woke up feeling cold and grabbed his sleeping bag, ready to head back to the cabin and warm up. As he walked, he could smell something burning and followed the scent. He soon came across the bonfire, where James’ body was on fire, flames dancing around his body. Ronnie froze in shock and horror, staring at the terrible scene as panic filled his brain and heart. Ronnie stood frozen in shock, unable to utter a sound as he observed the horrifying scene in front of him. His pale blue eyes looked around in paranoia as he tried to take in what he was seeing. Matthew lay on the ground next to the bonfire, his body covered in bloody slash marks that soaked the ground below him. “My god…” Ronnie mumbled, terrified beyond words, and he ran away down the path. He arrived at the girls’ cabin and frantically looked around for Pamela, desperate for help. “HELP SOMEONE HELP!” Ronnie yelled, banging frantically on the door of the girls’ cabin, desperate for someone to answer. The door slowly opened, revealing a dim interior. “Is anyone there?” Ronnie slowly stepped inside, his eyes still darting about in search of help. He flipped on the light switch and stared in horror at the sight of Lisa’s lifeless body laying on the couch, her throat slit. “No!” Ronnie yelled, his eyes filling with tears as he saw her in such a state. He turned and ran out of the cabin, horrified beyond words.
Ronnie ran to the head counselor’s cabin, desperate for Deborah’s help. He arrived at the door and knocked hard, his worry and panic evident in his frantic knocking. After a few moments, Deborah opened the door, demanding to know what Ronnie was doing. “COUNSELOR DEBORAH! PLEASE HELP!” he yelled in fear and worry. “WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING!?” Deborah yelled back, causing Ronnie to break out in tears and sob in fear. Ronnie desperately explained what had happened, his words punctuated by sobs and cries. “I-I…they are all dead!” Ronnie stuttered in fear, trying to get Deborah to understand the gravity of the situation. “What!? Stop playing around!” Deborah said dismissively. “I-Im not playing!” Ronnie said, his voice cracking and his face filled with fear. “I SAID STOP! NOW GO BACK TO YOUR CABIN!” Deborah shouted, slamming the door shut. Ronnie was dumbfounded and horrified by Deborah’s reaction, as he knew that everyone’s lives were at stake.
“That little sh-” Deborah mumbled to herself as she lit a cigar. “I don’t get paid enough,” she complained, taking a hit from the cigar and blowing out a ring of smoke. Just as she settled down in her chair, the sound of a clatter from outside the cabin caught her attention. “Who? Ronnie! I SAID GO!” Deborah huffed, quickly getting up and storming to the door. The moment she opened it, she was met with a wall of darkness and a sudden chill. She raised an eyebrow, wondering what had made the noise. “Where are you!?” Deborah shouted into the darkness, trying to find Ronnie. But there was no answer, just an eerie silence that echoed in her ears. “Ronnie! ANSWER ME!” Deborah yelled, growing more and more frustrated as she stared into the void.
She marched out of the cabin and down the porch, heading towards the back of the cabin. There she found the generator, trying to find a way to turn the power on. She kneeled down and started to fiddle with the generator, attempting to make it work. Deborah fiddled with the generator’s wiring. To her surprise, a shadow moved across her back, filling her with dread. She turned quickly and was met with the face of sheer horror. In front of her was a person holding a fire axe, the axe poised to strike. Deborah let out a blood-curdling scream as the person began to hack away at her. Her cries of pain and pleas for mercy filled the air as the camp was thrown into chaos and fear.
Ronnie was running to the boys cabin to get help but all of a sudden as he ran he crashed into Kathy. The two went flying into the ground, groaning in pain. “What are you doing!?” Kathy shouted. “I-Im trying to get help!” Ronnie responded as Kathy stood infront of him. “For what?” She asked. “Multiple people have been killed tonight!” His eyes filled with tears. “You can’t be serious.” Kathy scoffed and looked at Ronnie. “Im Not-” Ronnie then noticed multiple blood stains on Kathy’s clothing. “W-what happened to you?” He said hesitantly as his mind began to race.

“O-oh….I fell…” She lied. “Thats your blood?” Ronnie said as he slowly backed away. “Why does it matter!? We should find help!” She quickly tried to shift the focus off of her. “NO! IS THAT YOUR BLOOD!?” Ronnie demanded to know.“Ronnie, I did it for you!” She exclaimed. Ronnie’s eyes widened. “What do you mean, ‘you did it for me’!?” He asked quickly. “I….Ronnie….they all deserved it!” Kathy moved closer. “No! You killed them!” He shouted and backed away. “Yeah, but…they treated you horrible!” Kathy screamed back. “THAT DOESN’T MAKE IT RIGHT!” He yelled back. “You little shit!” Kathy pulled out a knife from her back pocket and swung it towards Ronnie. Ronnie shouted in fear and backed away, starting to run down the path away from Kathy. “GET BACK HERE!” Kathy screamed as she began to chase after him, filled with anger. “No! Please!” Ronnie yelled back, cutting through the forest in hopes of losing her.
All of a sudden, it went silent and Ronnie couldn’t see anything but trees. His breath grew shallow as his eyes dashed back in for trying to see if Kathy was near. after a few short moments of silence Ronnie exhaled in relief but it was all in vain because Kathy was right by him the whole time. Kathy quickly slashed Ronnie’s arm, making him release a scream of pain. He turned to face Kathy, backing away. “You could’ve had a chance Ronnie!” Kathy screamed. “B-but…” Ronnie was wordless, he knew that these would be his last moments. Ronnie kept backing away until tripping on an exposed tree root, making him fall back flat on the ground feeling winded. “Goodbye Ronnie.” Kathy was filled with nothing but anger as she kneeled down and started to slash Ronnie all over. He screamed and pleaded for her to stop but it was too late for him. As he took his last few breaths, his life flashed before his eyes…thinking that he should’ve done more with his life. The next day cops filled the camp, reporting numerous grisly murders. They weren’t able to pin down who it was and, Kathy was nowhere to be found.
The End..
