5 Steps to Build a House in Minecraft
By Hussein Horack (AKA Fighterbear12 and/or BoorishBear)

Layout
This is arguably the most important part of the process. A good layout makes an interesting build! Google game maps or cartography if you run out of ideas, or look at my Pinterest board!

Frame or walls
Depending on what you’re making, you'll either use a frame or just fill in walls if you don’t require one.

Roof
Don’t skimp on this as it’s very important. Add variation and detail where possible.

Functionality
This is what I call doors, windows, chimneys, and so on. It’s easier to see where these look good once you’ve got a roof.

Detail, variation, etc
Whether you’re going for realism or fantasy, this step is crucial to any build! Be imaginative, try things out! If you don’t like it, undo it!

Extra
Surroundings (optional)
This step isn’t that important to be honest, but it’s never bad to put your build in a pretty spot. It’s guaranteed to look better!

Interior
Sometimes this can seem very difficult, but it really isn’t! It’s not like you’ve never been inside a house before.
Tip: Use Metadatas if you can (servers make them easier to use) so you can have access to many, many more blocks. Try the Ravand.org server for Metadatas and inspiration.

Learn to build well! Check out these great YouTube channels:

I will be uploading tutorials and such at some point, so here's my channel:

Also, to help you develop your skills, I’d suggest downloading other people’s builds and having a look around them and then copying them. You’ll learn a lot this way.

Step 6 Look at it for 30 mins.
Step 7 tear it down and rebuild it becouse you dont like it.
Step 8 When you are finally done (may have repeated steps 6 and 7 about 10 times)
add some garden or something to make it look lived in and to give it a
            "transition" into the world.
