What are some things you'd like the reader to know before we begin?

I'd like for them to know about special relativity, and preferably how to take a basic polynomial derivative.
You need dark mode to read this >:D

How did you find PMC and why did you join?

I found it looking for a software where I could design banners, you know, try different designs and patterns out without having to craft an innumerable amount in a singleplayer world. Luckily I did! I later created an account so I could comment on texture pack submissions, asking certain questions and giving congratulations on cooler works.

-

What sort of PMC-er do you consider yourself?

Within the community, I stick to the wallpost section, making my own posts, but primarily commenting on those of others. I feel deflated when nobody interacts with something I make, especially if it's an outreach of my personality (which it usually is), so I make a point to comment on the posts of others, to show that it's been read, and to share in discussion, so they don't have to face that same feeling.

As a style of person within my area, though, I'm pretty laid back, I'm usually not the first one to write in all caps if you know, but will when it's best for the joke. I typically try to think before I speak, but occasionally my impulses get the better of me, and I type something rash.

-

What is your opinion on the PMC community?

I love it here, I feel like most people can get along, and when they don't they don't have to interact with one another. If there's one kind of person you don't want to talk to, you don't have to, because there aren't too many of us, and we don't run at each other head on.

Drama here is minimal, and it's not like people dive headfirst into drama when it does happen. We're all trying to keep the place hassle-free, and we're mostly content with the administration. It's an excellent community we've bred, as we are all bonded in a relatively small platform by our quirky love for minecraft, the ultimate geek game. It's a cool setting, too, because we can talk to each other on a level and even plane, and bridge age and background gaps.

-

What is one of your favourite things about PMC?

The features! Every year, the admins add new things, and the site just keeps getting better and better! Does youtube give you a little pixel art pet to hang around your profile? No, and it's those sort of nice touches and cute efforts that make this site such a passion project, and clearly such a good feeling place.

-

Are there any PMC-ers that inspire you or whose content/posts you really enjoy?

I'd have to give the obligatory nod to Afap, Trib, and Greief, I love their humor style, and they're just cool dudes that are great to talk to and have fun with.

I get really wowed by the art of LogMaiden and @MissShroom(? dunno her current user), alongside MisterGriimm and figures such as Nitgo or Tzyber. Everyone can have fun with Silabear posts, and I'm no exception. If you want someone really genuine and intelligent, check out cloudkitty! (Just to name a few)

[I believe MissShroom is now autumn, might be wrong. If so, I apologize for the ping!]

-

What advice would you give to a new PMC-er?

Don't be too reserved, but don't be too loud and all over the place. Ease into it, and find what corners of the site you like, and what level of activity is healthy for you.

-

You joined PMC in 2022. What kept you here?

Fun friends, cool content. When I think of "favorite websites", this place is first on the list. It's on my chrome new tab screen as a shortcut, and everytime I type the letter "p" into the search bar, it's the first thing to pop up, just because when I wanna go somewhere on the internet, this is the first place. I love to read people's comments and replies and ideas and thoughts and opinions, even if I wouldn't necessarily say or think the same things myself.

-

What sort of content do you usually post?

I usually post wall posts. I've made several skins, both player and mob models, and have a few texture packs. I have lots of other texture pack and game customization things I do on my own, but I don't put any of those on the site, either because I feel it's incomplete, or simply don't want to.

-

Any advice for someone getting into skin-making?

Try things out, mess around, and with enough time put into one skin, anyone can make it a masterpiece. Any skin of mine that's good is so because I tried out most details in several different ways, seeing what worked, and what didn't, and over time, certain techniques stick, I use them skin to skin, and I can more quickly find a complete skin that's satisfying to me.

I recommend looking at the skins of others, too, closely, and seeing what specifically it is they do. Like the colors of so-and-so? See what patterns there are in each palette around the color wheel. Are you a fan of the messy gradients someone makes? Try it out yourself, iteration after iteration, and you too can find a style that's really your own.

If you could make a new country literally anywhere, what would it be called and what would its climate/culture be like?

I'd like to make a country hidden in the Alaskan and Canadian Rockies. We'd call ourselves "Spirit Bears" so people wouldn't be able to track us down from conversation, confusing us with the actual animal. The culture would be one centered around art and creation. All sorts of new foods invented each month, new paintings unraveled by the week, and music filling the air every minute.

-

What inspired your persona? (If you have one?)

I took a basic idea of heterochromia and turned it into a whole weird wacky skin fungus symbiote thingie. Many people have worn skins wearing suits, but I thought it could look better if you kept the button-up + tie, and ditched the jacket. Nobody had done it before that I'd seen, so I tried it out and thought it looked great, kept it. I put high sunglasses on a skin made for someone else, and liked it so much I got it for myself (my whole persona is based from my long-evolved skin). The exclamation mark is because of my past username of simply Delux, I thought I'd give it that white mark as a sort of logo or image.
-

Why is your username?

I used to name myself TinyTem or temmyt45 when I played .io games or made website accounts. Later, I thought the word Deluxe could be cool, but as I expected it to be taken on most platforms, I derived it to Delux, and even Delúx for further singularity. Crown was also a cool name to me, which was turned into Cröwn respectively. I realized that they'd be even better put together, and be unique without any special characters. CrownDeluxe was certainly a better name than DeluxeCrown, it has a nice shape, sound/ring to it, and I feel like it fits me and how I feel online.

-

Do you play Minecraft, and, if so, what is your favourite part of the game?

I love exploration. Just to walk out, and battle or loot my way through far out structures, or find views of pretty generation is bunches of fun to me. I easily get tired of it, though, as singleplayer in general feels lonely to me, and exploring fills one's inventory to the brim quite quickly. I play lots of assorted pvp and movement games, BattleBox on Mcci is a favo(u)rite of mine. I want to refine my skills, get to a point where I can have fun, but also feel like I'm comfortable with being able to play the game well, in almost all of its facets.

-

What are some hobbies you enjoy?

Music, for one, is a huge hobby of mine, bordering on an obsession. I could listen to music all day given the chance, there's so much to offer in good noise. I myself play the piano and cello, and want to get a theremin sometime this year. I like to bike as well, as it's refreshing, healthy, and I get to see pretty parts of where I live while having fun. I've learned to bike without my hands, and it's fun to dance or make airplane arms while coming home from school.

-

What do you usually do outside of PMC (online or irl)?

Do or try to do homework, play with my family, and if lucky, go out with friends. I play lots of the craft, but also pico-8 games, and Superfighters at times. I check my email, respond if there's anything relevant to respond to, and watch yt videos ranging from interesting and worth my time, to pouring gasoline onto my personal guilt fire.

-

What are some things you are planning to/would like to do in the future?

I want to go to college, get a job that can get me by, maybe have a family. Try out all sorts of creative ventures throughout my life, and be someone touching to those I meet. I'd like to live in Canada as an adult, I've grown sick and tired of the Texas climate. I'd love to one day build a tree house, or at least a tire swing, and preferably to get married (I think future me will want that).

-

What is your favourite (or some of your favourite) colour combinations?

I like white, magenta, teal, certain flavors of pink. I think that they go quite well with each other, and a proper pink & orange combo can be the bond between heaven and earth.

-

Favourite book/movie/game/series/fandom?

All the Light We Cannot See, The Things They Carried, The Invention of Hugo Cabret, The Bone Series | Princess Mononoke, Fantastic Mr Fox | Minecraft, Undertale, Celeste Classic, Lemonhunter | ATLA, Bluey, Kipper, Mister Roger's Neighborhood | pmc??

-

Favourite artists, bands, authors, content creators, etc?

The Beach Boys, Pink Floyd, Simon & Garfunkel, spellcasting, Bob Dylan, The Police, Oliver Buckland, America, Menahan Street Band, Chopin, Dvorak, CCR, Leonard Bernstein, Joe Hisaishi, potsu, leon chang, A Tribe Called Quest, Vince Guaraldi Trio, Fleetwood Mac, Cat Stevens, Bill Withers, Gershwin, Toby Fox, George Harrison | Ray Bradsbury, JD Salinger | Jeaney Collects, rekrap2, Awto, masmarvelous, Drew Gooden, Kenadian, Casual Geographic, cinemastix, Couriway, Wifies, baconwaffles0, bill wurtz, SandwichLord, Maskyzee, iTMG, 4CVIT

-

Does pineapple belong on pizza?

Yeah, of course it does! If seasoned pig intestines is normal, some fruit should absolutely be okay.

-

Is chocolate a salad?

. . . Come again?

-

What is something you want to tell about yourself that you probably wouldn't get to in a normal conversation?

Ooh, that's a good question! Maybe that I'm a very deeply conflicted and contradictory person? Dunno for sure on this, but I think and do a lot of things that don't easily align with other things I think and do. I'm consistently inconsistent, too, although it feels like I often make the same decision in the same place.

-

Describe yourself in a single sentence.

I am the "handsome" version of BlueBoyBuilds (those are his words)

-

What is one thing you made and one thing someone else made that you'd like to advertise?

I'd like everyone reading this to know that I recorded myself getting a world record Lemonhunter speedrun time, published it as a youtube video, submitted it, and it still hasn't been accepted, I turned it in months ago. From someone else, any of Enchanted_Games's texture packs are incredibly impressive and cool in-game, check them out!

-

One last thing you'd like to say to the reader?

I think that you should pull the lever! It's completely selfish to try to distance yourself from the situation by doing nothing, and you are not the judge of who is a better person than someone else, save 5 lives over 1! While it can be terrible for them to die, letting the five die knowing you could have minimized the effect is even worse. To me, it's hardly a dilemma, because while both options are horrible, one is so much worse than the other, and scummy to even consider.
