Preface:

Warning: If you are using mobile device, make sure to set “File Storage Location” to “External” before importing this resource pack, otherwise, your save data may be lost in case the game future updates break modified UI data.

And please, be sure to read carefully this post before downloading and using this resource pack, thank you!

Vanilla DX UI:

Before "Modified Vanilla" and "Vanilla enhanced". Is a resource pack that would improve UI and other assets.

Actually, is a testing TP made since fall 2016, oriented to port menus and container/inventory GUI textures from Java Edition to Bedrock Edition more easily and efficient!

Desktop UI:
Convert base game interface to Java Edition interface style! Of course, not all screens were modified, but I will add more in future versions!

Features:

  • JE UI designs with 75% accurate.
  • Some GUI textures ported to Bedrock Edition.
  • UI customization by “ui/_global_variables.json”.
  • Note: Some UI data assets may change in future updates, so, stay tuned!

What’s new in v3.0:

  • New UI file and texture system, new GUI assets based on JE v1.20.2 and v1.20.5 snapshot.
  • Added modified “Crafter” for Redstone inventory screen.
  • Added support for customize touch controls.
  • Some important bug fixes.
  • More design accuracy!

Upcoming features for future versions:

  • Compatibility for other projects.
  • Depending on the amount of “support”, maybe I will bring back about modified Dressing Room and Persona screens.

Supported Languages:

  • English (en_US and en_UK).
  • Spanish (es_MX and es_ES).
  • Japanese (ja_JP).
  • Korean (ko_KR).
  • Portuguese (pt_BR and pt_PT).
  • Chinese (zh_CN and zh_TW).

More full languages support is coming in near future updates.

Known Issues:

  • Not all modified screens are fully compatible with the use of gamepad/controller.
  • Some screens take a long time to load, something like Settings Screen, Play Screen, and it is because it contains so many objects in UI data.
  • When using a 3rd party add-on with new custom items. The creative search tab icon will be changed. Unfortunately, there is no solution to this.
  • And unfortunately, since the “Ore UI” (new UI engine) appeared for the “Create World” and “Achievements” screens, it is now impossible to modify it using resource packs. So please, don’t ask me, that it’s impossible!
  • And speaking of this, “You Died!” screen, there is an option where you can disable “Ore UI” mode for this screen, it is the only one way that will exist for now.
  • In order to prevent errors while customizing touch controls, I have disabled the HUD visibility while inventory or another screen are open… But still, you can re-enable by reviewing “ui/_globall_variables.json”.

Terms of Use:

You may:
  • Make review about this pack, as long as you credit me as “@CrisXolt”. And put original download link in description (This Planet Minecraft forum post).

You may not:
  • Make customized APK/APPX and monetized content (pirate modifications), no one will have the permission.
  • Use my modified JSON and UIDX data files claiming this work as your, without permission of course. Specially do not modify/erase the text in the first line code in each .json file. (Example text: //File Made/Modified by @CrisXolt or “Some people who contributed”).
  • Redistribute this resource pack made by me in another pages/app store, no one will have the permission.
  • Do not use for third-party projects, much less to merge with "Concept Clients" resource packs, no one will have the permission.

If you have any more questions about this, please let me know by sending a message/question in chat, on discord server: CrisXolt's Refuge.

And how do I deactivate this resource pack?

If this is your first time experimenting with the UI, just go to "Options...", and click the button where it says: "Resource Packs...".

And then this screen comes out and you can deactivate this. That's all! ;D

Special Thanks:

AgentMindStorm, ZouChenyunfei, LupasPAH, Hawf-Human, and abc555 for custom JSON UI data assets!

Final Note:

Those default JSON UI data and JE UI designs is made originally by Mojang and Microsoft, UI design re-make as JSON UI data are modified by me for entertainment purposes.

Just enjoy and good luck! ;D

4 Update Logs

v3.0.0 [29 February 2024] (1.20.60) : by CrisXolt 03/03/2024 4:28:10 amMar 3rd

Note: Initial changes from previous generation.

However, it is not a big deal, it is just a small improvement over the previous version with the new GUI system based on JE v1.20.2 and v1.20.5 snapshots.

This is just a new beginning...

[Additions]
  • New GUI Texture System from JE 1.20.5 Snapshots, but not every texture can have the desired resolution automatically, still, you must review "_global_variables.json"!
  • Crafter Redstone Screen (From 1.21 Snapshots).
  • Customize Touch Controls (Experimental).

[Temporarily Removed]
  • Legacy container screens (Villager v1 and Smithing Table v1)
  • Realms Sections

Note: These screens will be back in the next update, otherwise... Ore UI version is probably implemented... D:

[Changes]
  • Global:
    • To avoid errors when customizing touch controls, "$show_hud_while_inventory" in "_global_variables.json" is now disabled by default. I hope you understand! >_<
    • GUI Menu background texture is now a darkened panel instead of a dirt block. However, except for the menu scroll list and full BG menu, it's only limited to pre-game.
    • And speaking of this, for the moment, the options menu design will remain similar to JE v1.20.3 with new integrated textures.
  • Files:
    • The VDX custom UI data and textures are now only located in the "/uidx" folder.
  • Progress:
    • File upload and download screen panels, including modals, are now fully centered.
  • HUD:
    • Bed messages now appear as action bar text instead of chat messages, with the help of @agentms_. In the next version, I will bring height limit texts to the action bar! ;D
  • Chat:
    • On the chat screen, the main BG is now in each message grid panel instead of the full scroll panel, to match the Java edition.
  • Beacon Desktop:
    • Changed Diamond and Emerald icon offsets to match Java Edition.
    • The hover text panel for the confirm and cancel buttons has now been removed, as it is no longer in Java Edition.
  • Inventory with Recipe Book Desktop:
    • Fixed a bug when selecting a recipe while using the controller cursor.
    • Selected recipe: even if there are no ingredients to craft, the texture is now the same as the red one.
    • Creative category text no longer appears in the hover text panel.
  • Smithing Table:
    • Input items overlay icons now have the same animations from Java Edition.
  • Add External Server:
    • Text field option size is now between X=200 and Y=20, in order to match Java Edition.
    • Main Panel now re-modified with support for small phones.
  • Command Block:
    • Text field option size is now between X=276 and Y=20, in order to match Java Edition.
    • Help texts removed, something new will be added in the future.
    • Added autocomplete buttons, but only for touch screens.
  • Structure Block:
    • Text field option size is now between X=80 and Y=20, and for structure name, X=300 and Y=20, in order to match Java Edition.
  • Death:
    • Re-named quit button text to "Title Screen", and the confirm popup panel is now different based from Java Edition.
    • But the main panel can't be hidden while confirm panel is shown... Sorry... D:
  • Play:
    • Grid items are now improved! Making better support for controllers.
  • Options:
    • Controls options now have different sections depending on which method do you use.
    • Now, some options like "Subscription", "Server" or other things that were in the top right are now invisible (except on touch devices), but still accessible.
  • Credits:
    • It has been updated, now the texts are based on Java Edition (in fact, it is also based on Bedrock), but the data is now heavier! (More testing is still needed)

Is there a way for users to be able to change the title to 'Minecraft Java Edition' instead of 'Minecraft Bedrock Edition'...?

Im not sure if this falls under forbidden permission. But, i would like to use your code as a reference to learn and build upon my own UI pack. If i use code from your pack (i wont use whole files) i will of course put "//File Made/Modified by @CrisXolt" on each piece of code i use. Ill give credit for anything i use. Im here asking to make sure before i use it as a tool.
