William Afton, also known as the Purple Guy and The Employee, was the co-founder of Fazbear Entertainment, and is likely of Swedish or Scottish ancestry or possibly both. He is the main antagonist of the Five Nights at Freddy's franchise. He was a serial killer who targeted infants and young children, and who was directly responsible for all of the incidents and tragedies throughout the series. His role in the franchise's story is pivotal. His story is told via arcade styled minigames, in which he looms in the shadows, appearing as a purple figure.
Since William Afton is the only ever seen in human form in some of the minigames, it's hard to pin down his exact appearance to the point where it’s mostly unknown. In the mini games his sprite color ranges from various tones of purple, depending onthe mini game. It is worth noting that he appears purple because he is simply hiding in the shadows, not because his skin is bloated. His mouth
appears to almost always be put in the form of a elongated sadistic smile. William is seen as having a cleft chin outside of the mini games.
It isn't until Five Nights at Freddy's 3 that he retained a semi-consistent appearance, underutilized as it may
be, though he has expressive eyes and a mouth that conveys his emotionalstate.
The most detail William has shown is during the Save them Dead minigame, in which he is revealed to be a tall skinny man with a
long neck and has glowing, white eyes, a yellow object on his chest which resembles a security badge, and holds a purple object, which is
speculated to be a weapon or tool (some people thought it was a phone). it extends in his hand in a beckoning pose. He also has what appears to be bad posture, as his neck is always leaned forwards.It is heavily implied that his true appearance is the same as hiscounterpart in the novels, which could mean that he used to be fat and healthy, but ultimately became sallow and thin with a poorly shaven face, messy brown hair, saggy skin, and the appearance of a middle-aged man, as well as having lifeless grey eyes.
