I use MCSkin3D (and Paint.NET for some copy/paste)
And... for the shading, I choose some points of light and make each pixel darker and darker as they're far from this point (you can easily find it on my skins)
But this technique is not perfect, I know I should put some highlights as weel, but too hard, and I prefer keep on enjoying making my skins than working too hard and feel it like a punishment :/
I was expecting some "Happy birthday" but instead, when I arrived at school I heard "Duuude !! Steve Jobs just died !!" T_T
