Both the grass block side and Steve have been modified and retextured to fit in with the new textures, so personally I'd feel really wrong not having them updated while everything else is, rather than just having everything that needs to be updated is updated.

I totally accept that you like OG Steve and that you're not gonna change it, though I'd personally recommend not mixing pixel art styles, as doing so improves textures greatly.
