Sonic the Werehog is the alternate form of Sonic the Hedgehog in the game Sonic Unleashed. It is basically a combination of a werewolf and a hedgehog. In the game, Sonic tries to stop the latest plan of his arch-nemesis, Dr. Eggman. But unfortunately, Eggman releases an ancient entity called Dark Gaia. The event ultimately drains the Chaos Emeralds of their power and transforms Sonic into the Werehog. Eggman launches Sonic back down to the now shattered planet, where he meets a new friend who can't remember who he is. Sonic agrees to help him get his memory back, while also trying to stop whatever was going on. Sonic decides to name his new friend Chip, after his apparent love of ice cream. During the day, Sonic is in his normal form. But at night, he becomes the Werehog, which causes him to lose his trademark Super Speed, but he gains incredible strength. Eventually Sonic and his friends find out that Chip is really Light Gaia, the foil to Dark Gaia. During the final battle, Dark Gaia removes the power of the Werehog from Sonic and uses it to get stronger. Light Gaia tries to help fight Dark Gaia, but is injured. However, soon enough, the Chaos Emeralds regain their power, causing Sonic to become Super Sonic and destroy Dark Gaia, thus fixing the planet. However, Light Gaia no longer has any need to stick around. So he returns to his eternal slumber and disappears. And after all is said and done, Sonic and the gang return to their usual lives.
