Never entered a contest before so I thought I'd give it a go!
I first thought about making a jellyfish queen since I think jellyfish are super pretty, but then I wanted to try my hand at a mermaid tail.
Turns out it was harder than I thought XD But I think it's a unique mermaid tail compared to ones I've seen before. Her scales sparkle :]
I like how fun she looks, and she's a modest mermaid with the little tied on top instead of seashells >_>
I wanted to give her a unique expression that was contest worthy, and I do say I have never seen a skin with the character's eyes closed, so I tried that out and I believe it turned out super cute.
She's smiling like she's having a nice dream after playing with some sea lions or something, and her little pet turtle is on her head asleep too :3
My boyfriend said she looks like a tomato head >_>

Took away the shading from the inside of the legs (since she isn't supposed to have 2 legs that separate and cast a shadow)

And good luck on your last year. My last quarter was the hardest. phew, glad I got through it.
And as for the skin, maybe you should remove the darkness on the inside of the legs, it makes sense if the legs are meant to be separate, but when making skirts, dresses, a flipper like this, you might want to make it as similar to the front/back as possible.
and yeah, that makes sense, I'll change it when i get home.
