The night before he was to be hanged, a tall, silvery figure appeared before him. It told him that he was favored by the gods, and they would grant him immortality if he would forget his hate for the man who framed him, and grant him freedom if he gave something he valued. Nahalo agreed, giving the sight in his left eye in exchange for his freedom, though he never truly forgot the man, or his want for revenge.
Years later, he returned to the prison, the same as the figure he had met before.
But he didn't offer immortality. He made a deal with the prisoners: he would bless them with their freedom, if they carried out his revenge for him.
