The concept is pretty neat, and I'm surprised no one has done this before. Here's some ideas on how to make it even better:

- For a nicer 3D effect, remove the 3 bottom-most rows of pixels on the hat layer.
- Blend all those noisy pixels away using Gimp's smudge tool
- Make the top of the head fade from a medium grey to dark (from edges to center)
- Add some detail to the wheels. Perhaps make them 4-pixels square, and colored with 4 unique shades of grey.

I don't use gimp, I use Photoshop
I won't make the pixels less noisy because that is the original look of a minecart in minecraft
I will make the the top of the head fade
