About Dragonhollow

Dragonhollow is an EHM (Extra Hard Mode) server that focus’ on exploration and creativity. Players are encouraged to chart their own course, whether it be farmer, builder, merchant, or bounty hunter. PvP is enabled in wilderness areas and arenas (kit), so if you enjoy fighting as much as crafting you’re welcome to join! EHM creates a very challenging survival atmosphere, with limited sources for HP regeneration and monsters packing greater punches, exploration can be a difficult but rewarding prospect. Custom terrain and environmental dungeons offer opportunities to find resources in new and unique ways! There are no donator ranks. While donations are appreciated, the server is privately run and no perks or preference is given to donators.

Mature Audience Preferred

Dragonhollow is a Minecraft community. Creativity, exploration, and fun are our focus. While all are accepted, mature individuals are preferred. Our staff of volunteer moderators maintain a quality of life for all residents that reflects the values we uphold. Excessive spamming or attempts to exploit affiliate links or other means of personal promotion will result in chat bans, swearing in moderation is allowed. Griefing (by bypassing mechanics in place to prevent it), hacking, racism, and bullying will result in server bans for your IP or account. As swearing is allowed, our server is rated for people of ages 13+.

Features

EHM allows for more realistic approaches to situations in Minecraft (eg: gravity applying to cobble and dirt, or torches washing out in the rain) which make your choices in construction and gear more important than ever. HP regeneration is turned off except from outside sources (beacons, beds, potions)

Death in fact is an integral part of the game as we do run a monthly survivor board where those who survive are rewarded for their expert gameplay and dedication to the server.
Other features such as economy via tokens (obtained from exploration, mining, and difficult monster encounters) allow players to enjoy the aspects of the game they enjoy, while still having access to other opportunities.

Lore

Dragonhollow does maintain some RPG aspects for those who enjoy roleplaying. The current storyline is as follows…

Sanctuary, a home for those who are persecuted. Few brave souls managed to escape the trap that was Pandora. A single airship winged out over the land, eventually stopping for refueling and repairs in a landing that came to be known as Hardship. Over time other wanderers who sought refuge joined and a small town sprouted up. But unknownst to these nomads a disaster was set to befall this location. The valley home chosen sank from sight into the ground, leaving behind nothing but a gaping pit and the lone airship hanging in the air.

Distraught the survivors once again took to the air in search of a place to call home. When to their unbelieving eyes a familiar sight returned, Sanctuary! From out of the past a distant home left long ago when monsters were no longer controlable. It appeared abandoned and ruined, but the infestation that had forced the wanderers out was no longer present. With a bit of spackle and muscle, they set to work making an old home a new home again. Presently they also returned to the surface world, creating a new home of Hammerlea. There they could find resources to continue life, spreading out and creating shops and structures to please the eye. In honor of the ones who gave their lives to bring them there they created a giant statue known as The Guardian to look over them. A reminder that no matter how hard things became, their will would overcome.

But evil doesn’t sleep forever…
