In this map is a welsh castle. It is not a recreation, but a one I designed myself! It is designed based on the terrain around it. It is built to be as efficient of a defensive, and living space as possible.

Architecture

The towers have working toilets, fireplaces with actual chimneys, and rain drainage in the towers battlements. If you take a walk in the terrain around the castle you will notice that every spot has at least one arrow slit, turret, or crenel in view. This type of castle was most effective against sieges, compared to tower houses, and other styles of castle.

There are six main towers in the castle, as long as one interior building. There are two defensive towers, two accommodating towers, one kitchen tower, one gatehouse, and one great hall. The great hall is in between two of the larger towers, the kitchen, and the living tower. The kitchen tower overlooks the river, and the living tower is overlooking the forest and moat. Underneath the great hall is a small prison accessible from the cellars of the two towers. The last living tower is known as the Kings Tower, and is separate from the other towers. It is only accessible from a removable wooden stairway and the curtain walls.

Location

The castle is located on a large hill overlooking a valley on one side, and a river on the other. There are cliffs guarding the riverside. There are mountains going around the castle blocking people from coming in at more than two angles. The steep slopes and mote make sure that getting up close to the castle is very hard while under fire.

The castle also has good location for resources, with a forest not too far away, a river next to the hill, and a large plain in the front. Large scale farming could take place here, and a village could be set up.

Hidden features:
Small cave leading to a postern gate/secret escape rout out of the castle. Used to evacuate people of great importance out the castle, or backup troops into the castle. The tunnel has two paths to confuse anyone who is trying to enter the castle without proper knowledge of how to enter. Accessible through a small door in the well.
