The TIE/D Defender or just simply TIE Defender was an advanced and experimental Starfighter of the TIE Line of ships. Designed by Grand Admiral Thrawn himself the TIE Defender was arguably the most powerful starfighter to ever see use in the Imperial Navy with the exception of the TIE Defender Elite a version of the TIE Defender made to Darth Vaders Specifications given to Thrawn by the SIth Lord himself after Vader had an opportunity to fly the more than impressive ship. Classed as a Fighter-Bomber the Defender was heavily armed as well as equipped with a shield and hyperdrive. The TIE Defender never saw widespread use during the time of the Galactic Cival War however many of its design features were included in the First Orders TIE fighters.
