Multiplayer Adventure Map

The Dungeoneers

A multi/singleplayer rpg map that, hopefully, will not fall short in terms of adventure. In The Dungeoneers you and your friends(and/or enemies) play as your choice of nine different classes to defeat various monsters throughout three diverse areas.

Classes

Each class is given their own weapons, armor, and effects which are bound to their bodies upon death. All players start off at the apprentice stage and become progressively stronger by purchasing higher level gear. To purchase higher level gear players must first level up by purchasing a Tier Star and using it at a Tier Station.

The Teleporter. An example of a class.

Class Room
At the beginning of the game, players spawn in a room where they choose the class they wish to be throughout their adventures. Classes can only be chosen once, so choose wisely.

Class Shops
Each class has a shop exclusive to that class. Players can not access shops of another class. This means each player will have a completely different role in combat strategy depending on their class.

Tier Station
In each class shop there is a tier station. A tier station is where a player can use emeralds to "Level Up" their tier. Leveling up a player's tier opens up more shops to the player. This allows them to purchase more formidable equipment to use in their adventures. Also players gain higher level effects.

Archer
The archer excels in ranged combat.

Tank
The tank is a walking meat shield.

Teleporter
The teleporter can get to the action first and out of sticky situations.

Wolf Tamer
The wolf tamer is aided by, you guessed it, wolves.

Wizard
The wizard is ideal for aiding it's teamates with buffs in combat.

Axeman
The axeman is the strongest of them all.

Page Master
The page master is all around a good choice.

Thief
The thief gets the goods allowing quicker leveling.

Assassin
The assassin is as swift as it is strong.

Areas

There are three planned "Areas" in The Dungeoneers and all three are unique gameplay-wise and style-wise. Each area has its own enemies to fight, bosses to battle, spoils to loot, people to see, places to go, and stories to uncover.

The Dungeoneers Minecraft Map
The Library. One of three unique areas.

The Library
A mysterious library ruled by the great librarian. Because of his thirst for knowledge he shut the library doors and emersed himself in research centuries ago. Visitors are not accepted.

The Sewers
The Vile and tainted sewers have been unused for decades. A creature lurks inside, corrupting all that aproach it. Such a creature is not easily defeated.

The Mines
Once flourishing with gold, the now abandoned mines are crawling with poisonous insects and deadly creatures. What lies deep within the tunnels?

Checkpoints
Throughout an area certain rooms are encountered which will allow the player to activate a "Checkpoint" and set their spawnpoint.

Mobs
There are various mobs that players will encounter throughout the map. Each Area has its own unique enemies.

Boss Battles
Each area has one boss battle. Boss battles are more difficult in both combat and strategy and require the player to adapt to the situation.

The Lobby

The Lobby is a great place to think about life and wonder where yours is going. With the added atmosphere to clear your mind. Also players will find their class shops, the bank, and the warp room.

Class Shops
For each class there is a specific shop where players of that class can purchase their items. There are three vendors for each tier at each class shop. Higher tiered vendors will only open their shop in the presence of a player with a high enough tier level.

The Bank
Players can use the bank to exchange emeralds for emerald blocks allowing them to purchase more expensive items. They can also use the bank to store any items they don't wish to lose while adventuring.

Warp Room
This is where you access warps to all the various Areas and Arenas.

If you have friends
I hope in time you will be able to enjoy this map! I will continue to work on it and progress!

If you do not have friends
Do not worry, this map is for any amount of players! However I do recommend you find some friends... It gets lonley...

Comments are appreciated and taken into consideration.

This cooperative escapade is in early early development. Everything is subject to change.

Also, this map is made completely in vanilla minecraft. No mods will be required to play this map.

39 Update Logs

Changelog #39 : by Lukewarmly 09/16/2014 2:38:44 amSep 16th, 2014

So i have not updated for a while due to some out of town obligations.

However today I have done stuff!

I've created a system that will clear the players inventory of everything EXCEPT what lies in the last five slots of the hotbar. This will replace the idea of "Base" items. I think this is a good idea because players wont feel like they have lost EVERYTHING and will be less likley to give up.

I have also come up with the idea of having "Treasure" or "Artifacts". Basically you will find things such as "Ancient pot" in the library or a "Fossilized egg" in the mines. These items can be sold to vendors in exchange for emeralds or possibly for special items.

Well I was using the cinamatic effect too for one of my maps, you could spawn the player directly on the block and tp the player so fast they won't be able to move. Also your youtube chanel could be called red-curcitz craft

I don't like using /tp for imobilizing the player. It tends to jolt the screen a bit too much. But thank you! and also for all your suggestions!

For the story line, you can have the main antagonist as a infamous necromancer wanted by the king, this necromancer will be like a boss battle. He can also communicate to the players during the game (command blocks) to make it look like he is the one spawning all the mobs.
