This map contains two devices (2020 vs 2023 versions for each): A base 2 to 10 converter and a base 10 to 2 converter.
The newer versions are 11 bits (0 to 2047) with a computation time of 2 redstone ticks per bit. The designs can be extended into any number of bits.
How does it work ?
really basic maths :
- base 10 to 2 : sucession of division by 2
- base 2 to 10 : succesion of multiplication by 2
2020 vs 2023 :
- the multiplication has been accelerated by hadwiring the operation
- the pseudo stable division was replaced by another hardwiring with an odd number check
