The île aux Cygnes (Island of the Swans) is an 890m long artificial island on the river Seine, only about 2000 ft from the base of the Eiffel tower. It is crossed by three bridges, each of which have a section built here. In most places it is only 21 meters wide, and at one end sits a replica of the statue of liberty. The island supports an 11m wide flat top, with a tree lined path that runs down its length. Many trees are missing, awkwardly spaced, have been cut down, are of different species, or are not fully grown, so my replica presents an idealized version. There are benches, street lamps, and small concrete markers, which are all accurately placed.
