Unfortunately I still couldn't find a way to update the redstone mechanisms in the map to be compatible with the 1.5.1 version minecraft, so the only solution if you want to play this map, or the prequel is to use Minecraft Version Changer.
This map is for the 1.4.7. version of minecraft!

Do I really have to play it on 1.4.7? and use the custom texture pack?
Yes. I didn't have time to update the whole map & the texturepack to 1.5 yet, and since both are essential for playing the map If you really want to play it, you have to downgrade your game from 1.5 to 1.4.7 (takes 30 seconds). Texture pack is not only recommended but you have to use it if you don't wanna miss any custom features. (It's not just it Looks better, or I like this texture pack more...) Playing it on 1.5 not only screws up many of the redstone mechanics but also the whole texturepack!
Why hardcore mode?
Because of the storyline. It forces you to be careful but it's not a disadvantage of the map. It gives its exciting and terrifying feeling. If you just like to rush and not care to read instructions, this map is not for you! Find a map where you can die as much as you can!
Questions about the gameplay: Spoilers!
- I enter the nether portal at the beginning and I end up in swimming lava... Is that a bug?
No, it's not. If you look around a bit, you really can't miss a note, saying: 'Don't go through the portal!'
- Note 2 says: 'Remember your dream and choose a door' What dream? What door?
Have you played the prequel? If yes, you will know. If not, play that map first!
- Why didn' you give us weapons to fight the natives? They killed me so easily.
For a reason. If you wanna play a map where you have to constantly kill enemies this map is not for you.

true. freaking. story. I perfected a teleporting system with fancyness, or stargateif you know what that is, and it was amazing and worked beautiful, but 1.5 screwed everything up.
Although there was a scary/suspenced feeling I had that I almost never get (I got it in Lunar Awaken), it was too hard
