a little while ago a friend of mine aproached me asking for help on a hogwarts based minecraft map, they already had orignally statrted one but due to the fact they rushed it and didnt plan any of it they quickly foud out that that they were running out of room, so they got me involved to start a bigger and better one.
here is the journey from flat grass to building of epic proportions

started out on an aternos server where we mapped out where we want the castle to be and everything else, then we realised that it needed to be raised so i took the world put it into 1.8 with world edit and raised it up, after that it weant back onto the aternos server and we carried on, untill we had to add another builder into the pack, thats when we switched to realms for building (this was easier as we can drop in and out when we like) it slowly started to take shape with the walls and celings going up, then the texture pack changed and we had to change some of the blocks due to reasons (running a modified version of a harry potter resource pack, if i can find the original link ill post it in this projcect)

built up the common rooms bar slitherin at this point, a lot of command block work has gone into this (teleports teams and loads of other cool effects)
