HMS Bellerophon, as she was on the morning of October 21st 1805, she fought at the battle of Trafalgar in 1805 with the nelson checker paint.
Built in 1786 as a standard (common 74) she was a run of the mill British 74 gun third rate ship of the line.
Bellerophon was known by her crew as ''Billy Ruffian'' as they found it hard to pronounce her name.
She took part in five major actions,
Battle of the Glorious 1st of June 1794
Battle of Groix 1795
Cornwallis's Retreat 1795
Battle of the Nile 1798
Battle of Trafalgar 1805
Later in her career whilst patrolling in 1815, a boat approached carrying Napoleon of France to surrender to the Royal Navy.
Napoleon Stayed to in great cabin of Bellerophon until he was exiled to St Helena, he would eventually die there in early 1820s.\
HMS Bellerophon will forever be remembered as the ship that Exiled an emperor.
Later in like she ironically became a prison ship and was renamed Captivity.
