Now all you need is /particle to have particles spawn in the portal's location, and /clone to create a portal in the opposite dimension when you use it. I actually planned to use a similar concept for a Skyblock map in 1.8. Good to know that I'm not the only one who saw the potential of 1.8's commands for portal use. :3

I would've, but I keep my particles on minimal because the whole barrier thing annoys me. I also saw the potential of 1.8's commands for Easter Eggs with loot, but that will be tomorrow.

Once MCPatcher comes out for 1.8, it will be possible to make any sort of easter egg item you want, whether it be a pendant that boosts the player's speed when they wear it, or a bow that shoot fireballs. The possibilities are almost endless!
