Rhodes was one of the most pre-eminent city-states of the ancient era. After Athens' fall, Rhodes grew to become a strong naval and economic power in the Mediterranean, often facing off with the massive Seleucid, Ptolemaic, and Antigonid empires. Rhodes later served as a Roman ally, and for its contributions against the Seleucid empire, it was rewarded with a great extent of territory in Anatolia.
Sadly, the island is quite small on our map of the Mediterranean, but we did as best we could!
