Here is my entry to the Head into the Clouds contest. This is my first big solo project that I actually finished, so any feedback would be appreciated. Unfortunately due to other plans I cannot build any more on this project and this is for me the deadline. I hope you enjoy the build.
note - There could be some leaking ice on some parts of the make. If you can disable ice melting, I would highly reccomend it.
... Steve stood up to have a better look at the place he ended up in. He knew he had never been to a place like this, but it was somewhat familiar. Then suddenly it dawned upon him and he realized where he was. He was in Cirius. As a kid he was told many tales from this land. He loved the story as a kid, so he knew it inside out...
Once a prosperous land, Cirius was known for its wealth and richness. The first settlers made this city near one of the best strategic positions. It was surrounded by a vast ocean, so it wouldn't need any protection or walls. The position made for a perfect port and so Cirius thrived. The island though had one major downside. The God of the sky, a giant blue bird, had made it its home. The first settlers made sure not to disrupt the creature so all would be able to live prosperous and peacefully. With gold enough to build even the most prestige palaces and houses, it was no surprise even the lowest class citizens were living exuberant. Though after three generations a new trend emerged. With the current king not having any children a battle for the throne emerged. Princes and royal relatives made up a plan to decide who would ascent the throne as king. The person who would kill the God of the sky would be the new king. Many tried to gather a small army to battle the God, but many were too scared to enlist, afraid of the Gods wrath. One prince went into the forest to search for the creature. He found it's nest. The bird flew away and an egg was now exposed. The prince charged forward towards the egg and pierced its shell. Blood emerged from the egg and the prince realized he had killed the Gods offspring. He tried to gather as much as he could of the egg to have the evidence he actually killed the child of the god. He got greeted back into the city as a hero and a new heir to the throne. What no one realized was the fact that he now enraged the Bird and had spelled doom to the entire kingdom. The next night the God acme swooping down from the sky and detaching the island from the earth. The island rose and temperatures started to drop. It being night, many citizens were asleep so no one realized what was going on until it was too late. The island rose above the clouds and the temperature had dropped to a freezing -20oC. Ice froze instantly and many buildings cracked from the sudden temperature shift. Windmills grinded to a halt and ships fell down from the clouds from where once was water. Many didn't survive this ordeal and more fell to their deaths from this great night. After this, no one knows if there are still people alive, or if any could survive in such conditions, but Steve was about to find out...
