History about Bowhill House
Bowhill is one of the many ancestral homes of the Duke of Buccleuch & Queensberry and is located near Selkirk Scotland. Bowhill dates mainly from 1812 and was greatly expanded during the 19th century by architects including William Atkinson, William Burn and David Bryce. It also served as a military hospital during WW1 and was occupied by the army during WW2. It remains a family home today & is open for tours.
Info. on the rest of the estate
The landscaping is custom to the house but is partly based on Bowhill's real landscape. Vehicles are custom made by me and the Gates & Camellia House shown on the grounds are not native to Bowhill but they are from two separate real-life estates. The Gates are from Rossdhu House in Loch Lomond, with the Camellia House being from South Yorkshire's Wentworth Woodhouse.
