Hello everyone!
It's certainly been a while, but rest assured I have been building in my spare time (and this project is no doubt proof of that!) A short while ago my Girlfriend requested that I build a giant airship cruiser, not unlike something found from the movie "The 5th Element." After a couple attempts, this ship was the end result of that challenge. The goal was to create a modern/futuristic looking airship while at the same time creating a luxurious and relaxing feel.
With that in mind, I proudly present the newest addition to my fleet: The Azure Liberdade. This is no doubt my single best work, as it took every one of my skills that I know to come up with not only the exterior, but also the interior. For a size comparison, the Azure is nearly triple the size of my previous flagship, the Treis Indu Unum. So don't be fooled by the pictures - they actually make the ship appear smaller than it really is!
Overall, the ship is 10 decks tall, each deck packed with amenities that are commonly found on Vacationing Cruise Liners found around the world. Guests and crew enter the ship on deck 2. A grand glass garden atrium greets visitors who check in at the information deck (don't miss the Grand piano!), who then take one of four glass elevators up into the main part of the ship. Deck 1 is nothing but crew bunks and a small galley (enough room for 63 crew members). The main section of the ship features a 5 story central atrium with dozens upon dozens of windows to create a feeling of lofty spaciousness. Guest cabins can be accessed from decks 6-10 by heading towards the rear of the ship from all levels. One special note should be made for deck 5, as it features the world's first ice rink on board an airship (Yay!!!), so if the Fitness Gym isn't your idea of a workout, you can always go skate!
The command bridge of the Azure is 2 decks tall, with the second deck being glassed off for passengers who are curious about ship operations are able to watch the bridge crew work. The bridge view itself is stunning, offering the command crew a nearly 160 degree view of the sky ahead, allowing for precise control of the massive ship.
Guests who want to relax are treated to a number of lounges, not the least of which is Lounge 10-forward located on deck 10. With numerous benches, a drink station, and a keyboard for live music performances, 10-forward is the perfect place to kick back and relax while enjoying the panoramic view of the clouds from the wide glass windows.
Hungry? This ship has EVERYTHING for you. Whether you're attending the Captain's Banquet in the Grand Dining Room on deck 3, or just grabbing a snack from the Skyjammer Cafe on deck 10, there's more than enough food on this ship to satiate those hunger pangs.
Feeling skysick? Visit the First Aid station located just forward of the deck 2 atrium, and the on board medical staff will fix you right up.
Guests who are feeling particularly lucky or adventurous should check out the Crazy Eights Casino and Bar, located on deck 6 in the central promenade. Here, you can try your luck on one of the many slot machines, or immerse yourself in a game of blackjack with your friends.
Want to get that special something for her? The Diamonds in the Sky Jewelry Store (Duty Free!) Has everything you need to make this trip a memorable one.
I can't even express this entire ship in words. A mere essay cannot accurately describe everything on this ship. You will find everything from Bookstores and drink kiosks to Excursion and Travel planning, ship security station, room service... the list goes on and on.
It is my hope that you enjoy this ship just as much as I do.
I'll add stats and a schematic in a bit, as there are still a few tweaks that need to be made.
Current Stats:
Passenger limit - 118
Crew Size - 63 full time
Passenger Cabins - 62 (of varying classes)
Engines - 8 aerojet engines mounted on four chassis.
Top speed - 110 knots
Cruising speed - 52 knots
