PistonsOverhaul is a plugin to create on your server lifts, harrows, doors, drawbridges, rides... The only limit is your imagination. In fact it's a bit of a mix between the Zeppelin Mod and the PorteCoulissante plugin. And everything is completely Role Play without any command!
Concretely PistonsOverhaul allows you to create constructions and to make them move via different sets of pistons that must be previously configured. The movements are animated, that is to say that we see the blocks actually move, they do not just teleport from one point to another! In addition they are activated via redstonne which allows to create real automated constructions.

Installation and configuration
The installation is very simple and does not differ from the usual method: just put the .jar in the plugins folder of your server.
Use
All the plugin is based on the pistons, indeed they now have 4 modes:
After configuring the piston(s), the blocks must be placed. To do this the most important thing that you should not forget otherwise it will not work, is to have a workbench in your second hand while you place the blocks. This will tell the plugin which blocks will be part of the build.
Finally all that remains is to activate the piston with redstone and the blocks begin to move. The movement lasts 1 second to cover 1 block of distance.
The procedure is the same for turning modes. This time the movement depends on the radius of the construction.
Now here is a very basic example of drawbridge made with the plugin. Here we used 2 turning pistons each in a different direction: one to lift the bridge, the other to lower it:
- The default mode which is actually the vanilla piston.
- The sliding mode that can slide blocks, for example, can be used to make harrows.
- The turning right mode that rotates the entire construction around the piston.
- The turning left mode is exactly the same as the turning right but the movement is in the other direction.

Collisions
The plugin handles collisions between the moving construction and its environment. So you can very well ride on a moving construction and move with it. You will also be pushed by it if you find yourself on its way.
In case construction encounters an obstacle in its path, several things can happen:
In case construction encounters an obstacle in its path, several things can happen:
- If the obstacle is not solid (a flower, a torch, a button ...) it is dropped.
- If the obstacle is solid (a block, a barrier ...) the construction stops and then goes back to its original position.
If it does not work
- The plugin is not activated (in red when you do /pl)
- The number of blocks exceeds the max value set in the config file (default: 144).
- The piston is not powered with redstone.
- The piston has not been set to the correct mode.
- Blocks (or a few blocks only) have not been laid with the bench in the secondary hand.
- There is an obstacle somewhere.
