This is a filter I wrote for MCEdit, but I also used a bunch of SethBling's code. He's an awesome redstoner, and filter maker, check him out: http://youtube.com/SethBling If you reuse this code, please give credit to SethBling, and myself.
This is a filter for MCEdit that allows you to change item numbers, in mass amounts. You can also make infinite dispeners/droppers with it. Although this is already possible, using NBTEditor for MCEdit, this allows you to do it quickly, and easily. Simply select the area, that you want it to take effect on, and tell it the item count that you want it to set it too, and voila! Simple and easy, and it works for items that are already existing. And if you want an infinite dispenser/dropper, just set the item count to "-1".
To install this filter for MCEdit, you must first have MCEdit, which you can get here. Just click on the one that represents your operating system. Then download, and unzip MCEdit. You can run MCEdit from the main exe. Next, to install this filter. Download it, and go into the main folder that has your version number on it, and put it in the folder called "filters". Then run MCEdit, and load a world, and you'll find it under the filters area.
I might add some more to this filter, for example, replacing a specific item, or something like that, although I had some trouble when I tried to do it, so right now, you can only change items in mass.
If you have any ideas for this filter, or other filters, please let me know, as I might be able to do it.
Also, if you like this filter, please give it a diamond, or maybe even a favorite.
And if you'd like to see more, please subscribe.

This comes in really handy when you're building an adventure map. A simple redstone clock, a dispenser filled with predefined command blocks and your filter and that's all you need to create random events.
As for the teaching I probably wouldn't be much of a help as it's been a while and I didn't actually know too much. But if you are interested in it, I suggest you look up videos on youtube by texelf. He's very good at it.
I downloaded the filter to use for my map, tried to add it to the Filters folder and got an error message basically saying that 1. I do not have access too the file 2. that it cannot "rename" the file :/
if anyone has any information that would help I would be grateful :D
(btw I plan too Diamond this Filter as soon as I can get it working :D)
