The armor has no damage meters on the pieces themselves or armor icons that show above your health, which would make sense. So, I went up to a high tower and jumped off numerous times. The iron armor I had on worked like it's supposed to until the pieces started breaking one by one. It seems it does allow the armor to protect you the way it should. However, it appears that at least for multiplayer falling damage, that the armor still accrues unseen damage and proceeds to break like usual, even though you can't see the damage.
I am going to test it with pure enemy damage on multiplayer. I don't have enough iron on my single-player world to make a full set to test this. Once I get a little surplus, I can try it out though. I will let you know my findings in each instance.
I like the concept of this mod. I hate having to keep making armor, especially with the limited supply of diamond. Even iron gets ate up really fast normally when used for armor. Leather armor is mostly a joke and hard as hell to get enough leather in a timely fashion. Well, until 1.9 and animal breeding. If it actually works for enemy damage in either single or multiplayer and doesn't get destroyed, it would be really great. So far I can tell you it doesn't work for falling damage on multiplayer though, unfortunately.
