during covid i played genshin and i was a diluc stan bc i got him in 7 pulls on starter banner
although i had a lot of fun playing the game and was determined to get all th japanese characters n all, the game is also responsible for disposing my social life for about a year and so i never looked back after quitting once

for a guy like me minecraft works better bc its a more relaxed game with more freedom; sometimes i wanna collect as many achievements as possible in a day, other times i just wanna fish and not think about it, while i listen to a podcast or some music. there's also more creative freedom, so while i was at it, making datapacks felt like a nice way to spend my time

Personally I feel that the animations they release at this time each year is very visually pleasing, and though the style is different, you start to imagine yourself how it might end up looking in game. You've never seen anything like the armadillo or the crab in vanilla before, but it's going to be. I don't care much about the results but the animations really hype me up! And idk about you but i rlly like how all the mob vote mob designs came out to be in the game

I doubt they work on each vote mob beforehand... Last year the sniffer was announced on October, and the first in-game reveal was in mid-January. The fireflies they showed were likely very early development and was probably simply particles being shown around the frog.

You do have a point that they could be more specific with what the mob would bring to the table, I was definitely hoping for more seeds from the sniffer lol. The way they present it overall though is a fun way to make the community excited once a year for the big event

I'd like to remind you to show sympathy for the hardworking people behind the game; it's not easy to make one, and it's especially hard to keep building off of one game that's like 12 years old now

a nether cottage! a piglin would be living inside just chillin, kind of like a witch hut.

every material of the house should be obtainable in the nether: warped/crimson wood for walls depending on the biome, snout pattern banner around the house, a blackstone variant for the roof, vegetation like fungi and nether warts around, and iron bars for windows

If your main goal is to start doing commissions, the first step is to work on your skills to be competitive, and post stuff. I suggest that you make connections by exploring many different communities, and more communities within them, and showing your cool creations there.
For example, I'm on a mc youtuber's discord server, as well as the servers for Blockbench and datapacker groups. People I got to know happened to know others who were looking for artists, and that's how I got my first commission!
