Hey there, I confirm what Jmal116 told you regarding naming items after a player. It's impossible. I was asking the same thing lately to a friend (Rubisk on minecraftforum.net) and it turns out like Jmal116 said that the selector command can't be use because you can't use json in simple strings like that.
For the rest of your question as explained by Jmal116 isn't problem.
Yep I agree with Randmoness3333, maybe picking all or more than one component from one place will in the end be cheaper. Also and that's just IMO, I prefer to have fewer places to look for in case of warranty issues...
