Appreciate everyone's patience. As I said from the get-go in the starting post, I do this as a day job professionally and after a long day of working flat out sometimes I don't feel up to doing it in my time away from work.
Over the past 6 years I've had a number of request threads, people who know me from CyberGamer would note I had one with over 29,000 views on it and in fact was 38 pages long.
In my time running these threads I've learned a few things:
- It can quite easily chew up all your free time. And for someone like me where this isn't just a hobby, it can get extremely draining.
- After a long day working, generally all my creativity is shot, so if I end up doing requests during that time afterwards, they're typically not up to my standards and when I was younger i'd sometimes let that slip. Nowadays I can't afford to let it slip as my reputation gets me work, and every design counts to that end.
- It just seems fair to keep you informed, and this time around all the rules and information I put in the starting post isn't because I wanted to be a dictator in my thread, it's just things I need to say, things I need to put in place, because without it I'll see me closing this thread again quite quickly because I feel too burdened or too pressured when I'm exhausted.
The reason you're putting a request in is because you like my work, you've seen it around, know my reputation, and want to get something made for you. It's taken a long time to build up that reputation but I'm at the stage now where I'd almost never do any work for free. This is currently the only thread I have open on any forum offering free graphic design work, everywhere else I won't accept requests via forums, I almost never respond to requests via private messages. Typically it's people who already know me, or contact me through a proxy, and I can charge a lot of money for it.
But you all here are getting that service for free. In return I'd just like a little bit of patience. If I don't say something for weeks it's not because I've forgotten you, I still check the thread almost every day, but most of the time it's only in passing as I need to get something done or reply to an email or grab something before a meeting.
One of the reasons why I added the queue is so you know I've seen your post, I'm aware of your request, and it's just me saying, yep I acknowledge that and when I get time I will get to that.
Thank you for those who have waited patiently, I appreciate you putting a request in. Those who aren't in the queue yet who have posted up, I'll get you added as soon as possible.
