Hello Planet Minecraft,
Meat Mallet here. I'm an old school Redstoner Engineer. I've played Minecraft since Beta, roughly 2011 and I've been on PMC for clmost 8 years.
I don't usually use the forum part of this website, so now is a good chance to get to know each other. Ask me anything!

I started playing Minecraft in 2012, a bit after MCPE launched. It's been awesome watching the community change over time!

I really enjoy how far redstone has come, yet remained relatively straightforward and uncluttered. Observers were a great addition, as well as slime and honey blocks for moving multiple blocks with a piston. I've watched lots of mumbo and ethos back in the day, Pingu is pretty cool now a days, they make some pretty cool flying machines.
What is the coolest thing you've made using redstone?
That is tough for me to say, I only post my very favorite and most complete works. Take a look at my builds and decide for yourself! I am personally very proud of my player pianos, especially the most recent one. I would consider them to be very ground breaking and downright neat! Others seem to agree :)
can you give me some tips for Redstone? I'm not very good or knowledgeable about Redstone.
I'd like to add: Build your prototypes large and spread out so you can access everything easily and troubleshoot and make changes. Then when you are satisfied with your circuits, you can work on making them more compact and more aesthetically pleasing, hide your wiring etc....
thank you very much, i already know how to build a piston door (im pretty sure most people know how) any other simple ideas to start with? (apart from item sorters, farms, etc.)

Well there are infinite variety of piston doors. Have you made a 3x3? Or made one flush with the wall? You may even discover a whole nee way to make piston doors. My favorite thing to do with redstone is to make things that don't really have any in game use other than being aesthetic and fun. I suppose my clocks have in game use but that wasnt entirely my intention building them. I like to replicate things from real life and bring them to life in minecraft. Some people like to build ALUs and computers and calculators. I enjoy seeing these but I dont find them very interesting as they are usually clunky and slow and dont really do anything interesting.
I would work on perfecting the fundamentals first. Then when you are familiar with how things interact, you may get ideas on things you could build

Certainly. A good start is to create a superflat world, turn off weather and daylight cycle and mobs, and just start experimenting. There are tons of build tutorials on youtube. Start building simple contraptions like piston doors and item sorting systems, different kinds of farms, etc...This will build your confidence and knowledge with different the redstone items and functions. Download other people's contraptions and maps, take a look inside and out. Watch what happens when things activate. Think of what it is you want to build and how you want it to come to life. The possibilities are endless! I hope this helps, if you want help with anything specific, you can always ask me, I am happy to share my knowledge and experience.

I hardly ever play survival mode or multiplayer, but I would consider it. It would be fun to build some of my machines in survival mode.

whats your fav redstone build you've ever made? and whats your fav redstone build that some1 else made?
It's hard to choose a favorite! I am very proud of my programmable noteblock player piano. It has come a long way! My favorite thing from someone else is the 7-segment number display. I'm not sure who created it but that is what first got me interested in redstone.
