Hello! If you follow me or follow my work, you probably know that I have been making HD skins for a while now. There are so many amazing artists on the site and barely any HD skins. I know most people have no clue where to start, so maybe this contest can help?
Below are the two characters that are available for shading!
Character info and download - Te'Knorr and Cheory
| Te'Knorr (Teh-Norr) They/Them Non-binary Feel free to make their body your favorite body type to shade (Male/Female), they won't mind! They're a demon who loves human culture and fashion. Specifically edgy Korean streetwear fashion and grunge punk. They have a bob cut, but is constantly growing out two long braids. Download:  |  (Doodle of them)  |
Cheory (Chi-Or-EE) She/Her Trans-Woman Cheory went to art school to become an animator. Unfortunately she had to face the hard reality no one is hiring artists right now. Instead she fills her free time by streaming games, voice acting for her friends' videos, and applying for all and any jobs she can (with no responses, cri). Her style is fun colors, pastels, and anything kawaii. Her staple is always wearing a blue wig, she has a collection of them. Download:  |  |

Rules:
- Skin must be shaded by yourself only.
- Only one entry per person, if you make both pick a favorite.
- Only HD skins please, no SD.
- Respect the characters and their descriptions, very little tolerance for hate.
❗Please feel free to edit the palette, base shading and change their outfits! I am unsure if some will be uncomfortable with the style choices or symbols. This is also a creative contest, so I love love seeing creativity. All I just ask that it still is the same character and respects them.

Prizes:
First place: Two skin renders (any choice, up to one can hold one item), one bust drawing (shoulders up), one first place trophy
Second place: Two skin renders (any choice, up to one can hold one item), one second place trophy
Third place: One skin render (any choice, no item), one third place trophy

That's pretty much it! If you have any questions feel free to ask. If you want more help with shading please feel free to DM me! I've already been helping a few people with HD shading and I am slowly getting the hang of explaining ways to make it easier and more fun!
I also hope me having created pre-shaded shapes will make the process easier for anyone who tends to over detail ever piece.

I have been wanting to try out the HD Skins feature but I didn't know where to start
But now that i see a render contest I feel motivated >:D
I may be done in a day since I'm feeling pumped, but if I can't I may just finish it this weekend

How did you get the skin palette on the last skin(last pic)?

For shading hair in HD, I like to start with my shape. Then I like to shade my shadows. When it comes to it, make sure not to detail hair too much. I see most people try to make strands of hair, I feel it's better to do clumps of hair! Make sure to save highlights for last, it makes a difference
For the poses in my render, I used Blender with a rig (here) and I made the bow in BlockBench and imported it to blender!
Also the palette is pretty much years of trying to understand color better. I like to use purple undertones and sometimes blue highlights. Worked well with the overall purple theme of the skin

my entry should be finished in about 2 days, just wanted to thank you for making this contest as i know that many people had no clue where to start with making an hd skin (including me) and it seemed really overwhelming and like a daunting task before i started but im really enjoying shading for this contest :D

Just save the image file of the character you like under "Character info and download", shade it, and upload. Make sure to tag me or put the link here so I see it!
