Some guy used my Deadpool skin as contest submission and made it to the finals. Well, I kicked him out (with help of the judges/mods,of course!).
Anyway, I'm excited to see where I place this time. Went for a bit of an older movie (Terminator 2) because hey,why not? Too bad I got a late start (I came home from vacation 1 week after the submission period had started) but I still made it in

The reason he got in was because his skin looked good and was a popular character and the only reasons you got diamonds was because the character was popular and not for the amount talent and the fact it was a contest skin which is why you have a small amount of downloads and its normally a bad thing if you have more diamonds then downloads I do not mean to offend you in any possible way but I personally did not like your skin if you want me to be honest
Ok, I honestly didn't spend much time shading it. Recently I've looked at a lot of good shading tutorials, so that should help out.
I think it half depends on the judge's opinions and some people diamond because they are bored. You can't rely on diamonds my friend, It is just like a really good skin is posted but the poster is a newbie and no one knows him and doesn't see their skin. Only the judges see them because they are checking every skin. A 1 diamond offer turns out to be a winner. That is just a story.
Wow I just thought of a good skin or two I could have chosen from Romeo or Juliet. Why didn't I think of that earlier.
still a tad bit sad i didnt get on the top 100 this time cause i was a finalist the last 2 contests and my entries where awful back then and this time i got beaten by noise and blocky shading but congraz to all 99 finalists that made it on and gl on the contest and its great to know i wasted about 3 hours on a skin that nobody seemed to care about
I'm a little disappointed I didn't make the cut, but oh well. Better luck next time I guess.

The competition in this contest is just brutal, a lot more great skins this time around. I will be happy to make top 25 this time.

Yeah I kind of agree with that Kefka. Both categories are quite expansive. I would of loved a just book competition. I feel like there would have been a much more varied selection of submissions.
We'd still have a million Harry Potter skins and most of the superhero skins would still be there since most of them have comic books...

I voted for the contest to be robots, so that is why I ended up making a robot from a movie. I felt the contest should have been either movie or book, didn't seem like you needed it to be both.

Well I really didn't like this contest I voted for the animal theme so I decided to pick a movie that none of my friends have heard of i hope the next contest gives me an option to be more creative with my entry

Very true, a lot of skins are just copied or reposted. I might make a character that I made for my novel or from an rp?
I am really not a fan of this contest at all. The point of the contests is to bring in new, fresh content, and reward people for being creative.
Basically what happened here was the mod team went and made a skin contest that breaks rule #1 of skin contests.
Even my own contest entry is rather uninspired. I'm might switch it out for something else.

Not surprisingly I'm seeing a whole lot of Starwars, Harry Potter, numerous anime/manga skins,Captain America, Spiderman, various other comic book hero's, and then far too many video game, TV show characters and nonsense skins.
I was pleasantly surprised to see a few Discworld skins in the contest though, and a George Romero skin. But I think my favorite entry has to be the skin of Baron Von Munchausen. I just never expected to see that.

have you seen the hitchhikers guide to the galaxy the movie is one of my all time favorites so i made zaphod beeblebrox the president of the galaxy from the movie it took a few hours to create so any feedback would be nice its better in the previewer because of the hair and the second head

It's very good but the only problem I see with it is her skin is too light. Try using something more tan. But not too tan. Hope this helped.

There was a Spawn skin I seen that I really, really liked. I haven't been following much other skins.
