For some reason every time I play minecraft my computer just goes black and restarts itself as if it ran out of power. Why? Then I pressed f3 while in minecraft. FPS: 153
WTF?!??!?! That is way over enough, minecraft can run smoothly at 30 FPS so why 150-300?!??!?!?! Can someone please tell me how to reduce this ridiculous amount of FPS??

Easy fix.

Open Minecraft.exe, Click options before logging in, click Force Update, click ok and log in.

Then click options.
Change graphics to Fast and render distance to Normal.
Try playing now.

If it happens again...
Run windows update and update everything.
Go the website of your graphics card and download the latest drivers, then install them.
If you have Windows 7 64bit, uninstall your java. Go to java.com and look for a different java version, you want to specifically download 64bit java. Preferably the offline version.
If you have a 32bit OS, just update java like you usually would.
Try playing now.

If it happens again...
Cry, sell your computer and buy one that works properly.

1.Get a hammer.
2.Smash your computer.
3.Put it back together
XD

OK that was a joke you can probably try this for real:

1.Goto %appdata%
2.Open the .minecraft folder and back-up your saves and texturepacks.*And screenshots if you want.*
3.Delete the whole .minecraft folder then re-run the .exe or get on the browser.
*You can also try Force-Updating in the minecraft.exe.*
