Why do we have servers that people don't use?

Before having my own server I have experience a lot of alone servers and abandoned community's. I can very much say that there more than 3Million abandon servers, and there are other servers that have or don't have what other people want to do. Like a full creative server where everyone is stuck in creative on a free world, or a fully vanilla survival server (That I have), or even a full on earth map that have all mods you would have in real life but in Minecraft.

What I'm saying is, Why do we have so many people making servers and have small community's only to have people back stabbing them to join new servers?

Now I know I'm acting like a idiot who technically now "begging" for people to join, but I literally have no other option. I gone to other sites to advertised but people just don't believe me these days and people will just look at this Topic and give a Meh and go find something else to do

But Please I'm asking you this final time, Please Join the server I know normal survival is bad for some people but it's actually fun when more people are online. You can make wars, peace, villages, massive builds, be a dictator, be a loyal king, or be a legendary player for "Lore"

People like to call my server can SMP but I would consider calling that

Thank you for reading if you want to ask any questions please do ask.

If you want to join the server or just wanting to find a server to start on your new YouTube channel the Link to more Info about the my server which I'm going to stop asking people to join because it's Literally pointless

Saying that these people are "back stabbing" when they join another server is more than a little dramatic. People play places that they have the most fun. If they aren't having fun on your server, they'll just go somewhere else. People don't owe you anything.

If you want player retention, then maybe you ought to work more on developing/marketing unique aspects of your server? That's a little challenging on a vanilla survival server, but vanilla has a lot more customization options now than it used to. Command blocks have a lot to offer these days and can be used to make fun things for players to do beyond the usual gameplay.

Another thing that can help is developing some kind of community. Events can get that ball rolling. Maybe there's a limited time event with some kind of leaderboard and the top player gets a special reward at the end of the event? It doesn't even have to be real. It could be something in-game. Personally, I tend to hang around on a server longer if I have developed any kind of relationships with the other players there, even after the content has dried up.

if your surjecting plugins were not doing that we do not like plugins and to us and other people it ruins survival, a singleplayer world is just the same as my server but multiplayer

Plugins add external files to your server. Command blocks are vanilla. They don't need to change a lot of the gameplay, but it's an avenue for standing out for player retention. Not the only way, but it's the first one that came to my mind.

Basically, people want to servers that offers more/better content

SMP servers are oversaturated and people are looking for new and meaningful content. Socialising is a side thing unless you have friends that play on the server.

This is why people flock to definitive servers for the genre like Hypixel for minigames and wynncraft for mmorpgs, as they have massive amounts of good content for their area, which can satisfy the masses for a rather long time.

If you want to join the server or just wanting to find a server to start on your new YouTube channel the server address is: 217.182.137.28.25570
Also do not put your ip here; You'll like get hacked or get a ddos, especially when your server gets bigger and a salty person/hacker or a troller sees that you basically have no server security.
If you want your server to grow bigger, use a proxy server and probably a domain name, which will decrease your chances of getting hacked

any even I do get hacked My main PC and main account can just tell the police because my dad has a friend who's apart of the police and my dad is a brilliant tech guy so the hackers aren't really gonna do much

If the hackers are good and/or from another country the police isn't going to do much.
There's a reason why hackers usually get away without being found after they commit the crime

15 years and counting hosting countless services such as websites databases and game servers on residential IP addresses. Never been ddosed or hacked once. A denial of service attack is quite expensive, especially these days with modern broadband connections. The joy of having a residential connection means you can just power cycle your ISPs router and you will get a new IP address. Additionally any respectable ISP these days will throttle and drop p2p ddos packets before they even hit your router anyway.

I never quite understand fear that people have around exposing your IP. If you have configured all your services securely with services like fail2ban monitoring access attempts, then all it means is that someone can discover which town you live in... and if someone really wants to know that then please be my guest. I'll pop the kettle on.

It depends on if your server is big or not (or if you want it to grow).
Most big servers won't have it because a static ip address is as memorable as a random phone number compared to actual words making up the domain name used to connect to that server.

It's better to call yourself Hypixel than 192.168.0.1

Me or my server admin don't wanna waste more money than we have now

I'm already saving up for a new graphics card my server admin got more than enough work than paying for an IP name

I do not care if your telling me or asking me to change my IP address it's not going to happen the answer is "No" and plus not ALL Servers have names for there IP
I'm also not asking to people to demanding people to join like those sky block 8 year olds

As I said above, getting a proper domain name is up to you and your server's progress.
As ZonkedCompanion stated, configuring your services securely with something like fail2ban will protect your ip a bunch.

Also Zonked please correct me if incorrect for what they should use to protect their pc is fail2ban (which is most likely used to host their server); I have nearly no in depth knowledge on network security.
