I've watched a ton now... If I had to recommend one, I'd go with the original "Higurashi" series. Be warned though, it's not for the faint of heart. It's a horror anime with a decent amount of gore. For a more tame pick, I'd go with something like "The Duke of Death and his Maid". It's a rom-com about a man who was cursed by a witch as a child and cannot touch any living thing without killing it. The anime has another season in the works, but there's a manga if you don't want to wait for the second season.
