Skin contest question
So in this skin contest, are the judges going to be judging the 1.7 skin system or the 1.8 skin system? Planet Minecraft supports the 1.8, but in game does not. 1.8 doesn't have a release date, are we to make skins based on 1.7 then?

Doesn't matter. They aren't required to download and use the skins in-game. Also, the skin format will be supported by 1.7.6, which is planned for release in March.
so they are just going to judge based on looking at it in PMC?
That's how they judge skins, yes. Builds are taken into the game for closer looks because screenshots cannot display the whole build.
Even if judges did want to see the skin outside of PMC, they could just take it into MCSkin3D or some other skin editor with a 3D preview of the skin.
