Lol I've never really noticed the 'SEND MESSAGE' button. Seen it, but not noticed. Silly me. Thanks for your time
Above the forum-y bit, click on "0 new messages"
Look around, you'll see a "compose message" button.

Click on their profile, and below their avatar you will see the 'Send message' link. click it.
